I hear ya. Do we know the date of when that call came in? Was it before or after she disappeared?

All of the circumstances surrounding Peaches/Baby Doe and LE is a bit strange. Something doesn't sit right...I feel like LE is not being forthright, after all, didn't they with hold info knowing that Peaches all along was the baby's mother? So, yeah...we can only go by what we have.

I don't put much stock in Steve Cullen's claim about Peaches. Logically, he is claiming that he tattooed a woman the police found dead and cannot identify, and that the woman's mother then called his tattoo shop to inquire about a memorial tattoo for Peaches' son instead of her calling the police to identify her daughter and claim her body. Either Cullen is lying, or someone was pranking him.

I agree. As someone who has multiple tattoos and tattoo artist friends, I have to think a tattoo of a Peach is pretty damn common.

I remember seeing or hearing that there was no press conference or official announcement with that information.

IIRC, he said it was the way the peach had the bite taken out of it which made it memorable to him. I'd like to think he's being honest. The more I thought about it, it seems possible he is being truthful, and the call from "Peaches' mother" was a ruse. I am a very ordinary looking woman who goes to a very popular tattoo shop in Yonkers, the 4th largest city in NYS, and the piercer remembers me there whenever I add a hole to my ear. I've never been tattooed by him or pierced anything unusual. Steve opened his shop in 1995 and claimed to tattoo Peaches in 1996, so I guess it's possible he remembered her.

Mr. Cullen said Peaches and her friend spoke about going to Hartford after the tattoo session so if they actually went, surely someone in Hartford saw the tattoo and would remember it (you know, like “hey, check it out...”).

If we’re to believe Mr. Cullen’s story, the key to identifying Peaches may lie in the Hartford/Bristol area. I haven’t been to Bristol since 2004 but if I recall correctly, it’s a small town surrounded by other small towns, like New Britain; Hartford’s the main city in that area. We need Hartford area news outlets to revive Peaches’s story in broadcast and print media. Put the photo of her tattoo out there over and over, repetition is key to jogging memories. Shoot, put it on a billboard; just get and keep it out there.

Over the years, folks in the Hartford area could’ve dismissed Peaches’s story as a New York story without even realizing a possible CT connection. In consideration of Valerie Mack being named, it’s time to seize the day and make Peaches the big Hartford news story.

As for the alleged call from Peaches’s mom, I don’t know what to make of that. I sometimes wonder if the caller was the friend who accompanied Peaches to get the tattoo but why would she make that call; why would anyone? And why hasn’t the friend come forward; is she scared, did she having a falling out with Peaches and lose touch with her, or did something sinister happen to her too?

One more quick thought...if Baby Doe was found near or so close to Valerie Mack and Valerie went missing in 2000...is it possible that lisk had the baby for some years?? If you think about it, Peaches was found in 1997. Unless lisk stored the body for 3 years or deliberately placed Valarie next to baby doe. I tend to think he may have had the baby for a while...ugh. IDK

No, baby died around the same time as her mom, Peaches. While it is not known how baby died due to no found injuries on her skeletal remains, dismembered remains, - hands were found near the baby. Both baby and those hands had the same jewellry. Baby had earings and necklace and hands had bangles and rings, (if I remember correctly), all from the same type of gold and of similar design. That how these two different remains and their cases were connected. Not sure though when police connected those two to her torso found in the park.

I still believe that the guy responsible for this is not driving the ~5o miles out to the city to get them and bring them back, I believe he is already in the city and has a reason to be there (likely work or maybe even recreation) and it is very convenient for him to find prey and bring it back to his comfort zone.

This is what I keep coming back to. With the prevailing theory that he lived on LI and maybe worked in the city, he not only spent much time there but was there at odd hours and often on Sundays for some reason. Reasons other than procuring victims it would seem. Maureen made a couple calls looking to get home around midnight on a Sunday so unless he somehow convinced her to commute closer to his location which seems unlikely, he had to have been in the city after midnight that Sunday night. Melissa was last seen on a Sunday evening in the Bronx refused a ride and was secretive about the date that had been set up according to her friend. If the reports are accurate one of the first calls to the Sister came the following Sunday and it was implied it came from Manhattan. Jessica was most likely also picked up in the city with her last known date range spanning Fri-Mon iirc.

It seems he was very familiar with the city including how to pick up sex workers almost covertly and without leaving a trail. With incomplete knowledge about JB, some of the above is why I hesitate linking him to these cases otherwise he looks very suspect. People will disagree but I do believe that whoever killed Jess and Val is also responsible for the gilgo four.

I agree with everything you wrote except the last line. My opinion is that it is two different killers. I believe the person responsible for Gilgo murders is an older white man and the person or persons responsible for the Manorville murders is a younger black or Hispanic man.

Yes the other jewelry not found on the child I should have said. It was like one set split between the two. Now it would be a big deal if it was found with JD6/Valerie.

I was thinking about Baby Doe this morning. There was a headless body found in the UK, believed to be an escort, about 40 years ago. Apparently scientists can tell where people come from because the different types of water a person drinks over their lifetime leave traces even in very old bodies. Link below.

Surely if this was done alongside ancestral DNA and analysis of racial DNA, they could narrow it down to a pretty small group of potentials? So for example a child of mixed black and Hispanic heritage born in Virginia 94-95 would be a small enough sample to check birth certs and ssns to rule all but a few out?
