I agree completely with Shamrock1...if any of the messages could be perceived as a threat, report it to the police. They won't be able to do much but they will write an incident report which you can request a copy of from the records department since they are public record. Make sure you document everything. That way you have a solid paper trail to prove telecommunications harassment. If you'd like, I can do a quick search to see if I can find out anything about him. I'm an administrative assistant for a private investigator so I can check into him.
Yes, I should have mentioned that you keep a journal noting every communication. Note the day, time, medium (comment on FB, snail mail), and anything important. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy. But if you need to refer to an item in the future or show a pattern, you’ll have it.
