Could not find this JD case posted before so here it is.

Could this murder be related to Grundy County Jane Doe, both were found close to each otherin Illinois with a 4 year span 76-80 both young black females and both bound. Just speculating.

Huh, I thought this was quite a well-known case, but there isn't much on it.
She's mentioned in this article but not in much detail, I don't have a subscription so I can't make a clipping.

I really don't think she was ever reported missing, or at least a missing person report doesn't exist.
And since her PM is so clear, if anybody filed a report for her years later it would instantly be recognised as that PM pic.

Body found in Sag Channel
The partly decomposed body of a woman, her hands and feet bound, was found floating in the Calumet Sag Channel near south suburban Alsip Tuesday, according to police. The unidentified woman, who appeared to be in her early 20s, was spotted by Illinois Tollway maintenance workers

Debra Venessa Townsel could be a math. The information regarding the date she disappeared is conflicting, July 1 or September 27.

I don't think she looks anything like the morgue photo. I mean the best thing a sleuth could do here is look at yearbooks from like 1973-1980 in Illinois and see if her photo is there. If she didn't graduate, 1969-1980.

I was wondering if you saw my post on this thread about Cynthia M. Cameron. Do you see a resemblance?

Yes, I did see Cynthia‘s picture and was trying to enhance it to see the facial features a little more clear but also without distorting the photo.

I do see a resemblance with her nose and the shape of her mouth.

Do you have information on Cynthia? Is she a missing person?

Thanks for the enhanced version. I've been looking on Newspapers to find anything but nothing. Nothing online about her either being missing or still alive. If she was the Doe, she'd have been 24 when she died and possibly married so might have had a different last name.
I think the resemblance is uncanny, and it's just an interesting place to start. But if she's completely fine I don't want to invade her privacy.

I think it's absolutely possible that this is the Doe. I especially see it with the nose. Is there a way she can be ruled out just in case? This Doe case always bothered me.

First it is important to know if Cynthia is a missing person or not.

Mary Ann Hutchinson was recently added to NAMUS. She went missing from Evanston, Illinois in July of 1979 at the age of 20. The height and weight are off but there are some visual similarities.
