CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are asking for help finding 33-year-old Brittany Battaglia of Chicago, who has been missing since Friday.

Battaglia's family said she went over to her boyfriend's home on the night of Friday, June 2 and has not been seen or heard from since, which they said is abnormal behavior for Brittany Battaglia

Her family said she was due to leave for a business trip to California Monday morning, but did not make it, which is also out of character.

Battaglia's brother said her roommate contacted him Sunday, concerned that she had not seen or heard from her all weekend.

Her friends and family said her boyfriend, who is a relatively new addition to her life has been acting unstable recently. Her brother said he reached out to him Sunday night but he was not helpful.

Police said Battaglia lives in the 1900-block of North Kimball Ave, in the city's Logan Square neighborhood.

Battaglia is described as a 33-year-old white woman, 5 ft. 2 in. tall and 180 lbs., with blue eyes and blonde hair. Police said she may be in her vehicle, which is a 2013 blue Mazda with Illinois license plate DS15953.

If you have any information about her whereabouts, contact Area Five detectives at 312-746-6554

Bar friend of Brittany here! Will update if I find out anything.

It doesn't appear there is any evidence that she was actually at the boyfriend's house. IMO
AJ Battaglia says his life was turned upside down when he got a late-night call from his sister’s roommate.

The roommate informed Battaglia that she hadn’t seen nor heard from his sister, 33-year-old Brittany Battaglia, since Friday, June 2. Battaglia told WGN News that the news was alarming.

“We noticed Friday that her location was stopped sharing with us,” he said. “My parents and I, and my sister, we all share our location, so we thought that was a little funny.”

According to her brother, a man Brittany has been dating for about a year lives nearby. AJ Battaglia told WGN News that his sister went to his residence Friday night to cook dinner.

No one has heard from her since, prompting AJ Battaglia to contact the boyfriend.

“I actually reached out to the guy myself. He said he hadn’t seen her since Saturday. He said she left in a huff,” AJ Battaglia said. “They had an argument.”

Loved ones told WGN News that Brittany Battaglia was supposed to board a flight to California on Monday. That flight was missed and a suitcase was never packed.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Nearly a dozen detectives and investigators descended on a Logan Square two-flat at dusk on Monday night.

Crime scene tape made it clear that the home is the center of an active investigation. Police have been going in and out of the building for several hours on Monday evening.

Brittany Battaglia's family and roommate said that home was the last place she was known to be on Friday evening. They said she'd go there to see her boyfriend.

Body found near where missing Chicago woman was known to have visited

"She told me that she was going to go over there, cook him a meal, make sure he ate something, drink some waters. She was going to come back home to get ready for her friends mom's birthday party," said Quamieshia Greathouse, Brittany's roommate and best friend.

Hello everyone sorry for not updating. Everything happened so fast. The police went to her boyfriends home, and found her deceased in the home. I needed time to kinda process with my friends and such.

Thank you to everyone we who posted in my place.

My condolences. Words can’t express what you’re feeling, I know.

Another confirmation:

Police confirmed one person was in custody and charges were pending late Tuesday morning as Area 5 detectives conduct a homicide investigation.

This states an update should be coming today from CPD:

According to police, a person is in custody and charges are pending in the homicide — but officials have not yet announced the woman’s identity. <snip> Chicago police are expected to provide an update Tuesday.

No charges have been announced against the suspect, who was arrested in 2009 and charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and attempted murder. He entered a guilty plea in 2011 but details were not immediately available in court records.
