GUILTY IL - Megan Nichols, 15, found deceased, Fairfield, 3 July 2014 *ARREST in 2020*

No - state cop's son. He's suspected by the family and locals.
OK, thanks for clarifying.

I don't know the ins and outs, but the feds have fairly broad authority when it comes to police corruption at the state or local level.

Maybe they can nail the son for capital murder and lock up the dad and throw away the key (if he helped cover up the murder or obstruct the investigation).

I became very involved in helping bring Megan home. She's home now.... RIP, kiddo. Lots of people did not forget about you!

I hope. Here is the video where it is publicly discussed at about the 8 minute mark. https://crimewatchdaily.com/videos/0-fnkwcpr6/

per the Wayne County Press in Fairfield:
Remains Confirmed As Megan Nichols

The FBI has confirmed the remains of a body discovered recently were those of teenager Megan Nichols, missing since July of 2014.
Bones were discovered Dec. 26, 2017 in a field south of Boyleston. Those remains were collected by the FBI, who were able to positively identify them as those of Nichols.

Further details are not being released at this time, as the investigation is still ongoing. The FBI and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office continue to ask for the public to submit tips regarding the disappearance of Ms. Nichols.
This post right here. "Investigation is still ongoing."

They have already completed an autopsy of Megan's body... Before they knew it Megan-they have COD before they had confirmation of identity, IMO this shows that there was -something- found during that autopsy that doesn't point to Megan's death being natural causes or accidental.

What the examiners during the autopsy (that ultimately linked Megan) have found and will find at Quantico can't be taken back no matter if the suspect may or may not have "connections." That alone, not knowing the who before the autopsy, gives me hope that there will be an answer and a conviction in the future.

For now we wait.
Now is the time for US to bring Megans case back to attention. WE demand answers and resolution, as WE are the VOICE for the voiceless.

I'm not saying I don't think that this whole case is nefarious.
I just think we need more info before we make assumptions.
The autopsy will reveal the truth.
I'm wondering about COD, but also time of death.
Was MN held against her will for a period of time, and then killed?
Killed instantly and just NOW found?

There's too much going on, imo.

I really wanted her to have just run away and be found alive.

I'm really sad.

Who's the detective in charge and who should someone call (other than Fairfield PD) if they have info regarding this case? Justice for Megan!!!

If you have any information regarding the circumstances surrounding Megan’s death, please contact the FBI at 217-522-9675.

IMO, they have a good idea who is responsible. We know they have cleared her bio dad. I don't know if her mom and step-dad have been cleared. We know boyfriend hasn't been. I HOPE it's just a matter of time to dot the i's and cross the t's.

IMO the mom could have done this. The story changed where the mom was in the hour she left the house when she went missing. Crime Watch reported she was shopping and Kathy Jo said in a radio interview she was taking a friend home. Which is it? The mom very easily could have sent Megan to the ATM to get cash out, wipe Megan's phone clean and write a note to make it look like a run away. The mom had access to set all of that up more than the boyfriend. Why didn't the mom find that boyfriend that night she went missing? Why did she wait 1 hr 45 minutes to report it? Why didn't she find the phone and note in the 1 hr and 45 minutes she had before reporting her missing? If it was your daughter and you suspected the boyfriend, wouldn't you be knocking on that boyfriend's door that night? In May when Megan went missing, she called the boyfriend via Megan's phone to locate her. But in July she doesn't call him or track him down? Instead after she reported it to the police, she went home to look for clues?? I would have gone straight to the boyfriend's house to look for my daughter. If she suspected the boyfriend, she didn't need a clue to know who Megan might be with. Maybe the mom is innocent, but there are definitely things that aren't adding up.

To put into context, the boys stepmother was found dead a few years ago. A lot of people suspected the dad (cop), but it’s a small community and he has a LOT of power and pull.

I’ve posted previously about my concerns of corruption and the feeling most people I’ve spoken to in the community have had, is based on heresay but valid none the less.

The dad of the boyfriend was upset regarding the age difference and the mother reportedly saying she would press charges against the boy if he didn’t leave the 15 yr old Megan alone.

Also, according to rumor, if you look into 911 history you will see how often the stepmother tried to reach out for domestic violence assistance.

Again, just talk and rumors, I feel confident to share since I’m so far away.

Going on record to say that it doesn't make sense.
Imo, we have a teenage girl that was doing what she wanted, because she thought that she would have a better life with a cute guy that maybe promised her that he could make her dreams come true. Hey, why are you listening to those that are making it hard for you to be who really are?

"Finding something like that is hard enough, but knowing the person, is ten times worse," said Jacque Beck.

Beck says she and her boyfriend, Vaughn, knew 15-year-old Megan and her family.

I know that in a town of about 5000 people, it's normal to know just about everyone but something is unsettling to me about the fact that she and her boyfriend knew Megan and Megan's family.

I find it very strange how her boyfriend found the remains and called police but then didn't stay at the scene to wait for them, he picked up his girlfriend and went back to the scene. (source)

I really hope they find out who did this. Her dad has put a post on Megan's fb page mentioning Occam's razor and how he has been constantly saying who he suspects. Its so sad and it will be an utter disgrace if the policeman s son is who is behind this.

I don't think the people who found the body had anything at all to do with what happened to Megan. Fairfield is a small town. Megan was a cheerleader, so was well known. Boyfriend's dad was a state cop, and was very well known. Megan and her family attended one of the larger churches in Fairfield, so had many acquaintances through church. OTOH, the people who found her body live west of Fairfield in a tiny town called Boyleston. I would imagine this was the worst thing he had ever come across - I know he was totally shaken up by it. I think it's logical that he picked up his gf for the support she offered him.

A lot of power and pull? He's a big lobster in a very small tank in a 3rd-rate seafood restaurant.

He's nobody. He's nothing.

We may be witnessing the prelude to Illinois's first father--son double execution in the modern era.

I don't think they had anything to do with it either but it just felt off to me somehow, I can't quite put my finger on why.

I waited on Megan and her bio dad and his ex-girlfriend back in November of 2013. I did not know it was her at the time, since this was prior to her running away, but I know who the adults that were escorting her, because I asked them for their I.D.s because I knew sure as **** the young lady didn't have one and the bio father tried ordering a third drink so I had to sit and watch them and make sure they didn't feed her any booze. They ended up shorting me, i wrote his name on an envelope because I suspected he was trafficking her, blah blah blah...There's much more detail to this story and I don't feel like going into it all tonight, so long story short, I tell my story SEVERAL times to Fairfield PD, I talked with 1 or 2 guys with the FBI.
Important:* Their is one particular time when I had told my story that stands out. The officer had a surprised/shocked tone in his voice when I explained who Megan was with that evening
and he volunteered, "Let me help you out, ma'am. (Insert name here) has only met Megan one time and her mother knew about it."
I'm willing to bet the evening I witnessed was not this particular time.
I wonder since the bio dad is cleared, if he already explained why they were meeting in November 2013 without her mother.

Perhaps you should attempt to become a VI here?
I think I remember another person posting here about a similar incident.

I was the similar person but I also included some "hocus pocus" and websleuths smacked my hand with a ruler and all my content got scrapped.

So, you should TOTALLY become a VI.
We could use some insight!
