IL - Roberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei and their two children, murdered, Romeoville, 17 Sept 2023

Actually, <modsnip> if they can pin liability on LEO for not protecting LP from the perpetrator.
Moo..my opinion is sometimes in a relationship it easier to stay connected to the one gone crazed, than cause a disruption. To save your family. Even if she had a protective order le would not be held responsible....moo

According to the Palomo family attorney, EP had no connection to the family. No "nexus" there.

Palomo had no connection to the Romeoville family killed on Sunday, Ivec said. Huey may have had a connection with one of the family members through their work, he said.

Of course, her family already has an attorney. No doubt, to pin the blame on LEO that this "wonderful grandmother" should have been protected from her death at the hands of Huey. It is all the fault of LEO.

Why else would her family have obtained an attorney?
I don't know if they're blaming LE on her death. (They haven't said that)
However, it is obvious that they are trying to clear her name.

LE is not telling us the details.

They may have called her a POI simply because they were together and heading to a region of the country where she might be familiar with. (Maybe that they thought she was in the process of "harboring a fugitive" and that is why they called her a POI?) This is all totally speculation and MOO....

I don't think she was kidnapped, but I'm pretty sure, she was at gunpoint by this guy during points of the journey. He was likely using her to get away. Maybe she knew about the crime and this was a way of silencing her.

Obviously, she did not kill herself. She was murdered by him.

I agree, it is very important for this family to clear her name. I think the "person of interest" description used by LE since the beginning was due to the car that Huey was driving, which belonged to EP. Also the address it was registered to is where both EP and Huey lived together.

From other cases on WS we know that LE do not make public comments to clear someone who has been a person of interest, unless perhaps at the end of an investigation if a press conference is held. Right now it seems that an autopsy was being performed late last week, and it will probably take time for toxicology results, so we may not know anything more for weeks to come. I doubt LE will make any comments until then and when they close their investigation. Also, there are several jurisdictions involved - Catoosa, Oklahoma LE, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and LE in Illinois. They all have to work together and do their own investigations, etc.

So the family is left on their own to try to clear EP's name in the public domain. I think their lawyer is doing a good job, at least trying to get this information out to the public on behalf of the family. Eventually I think we will know all the facts from LE.

Oh thanks. I wasn't sure if it was hers or his vehicle, so I didn't mention it. If it was hers', then I guess that's another reason. Thanks for establishing that fact. I read somewhere it was hers, then I read it was his, so I didn't mention it.

I agree. A bugbear of mine is that the phrase 'person of interest' is often assumed to mean the same as 'suspect' or even 'accused'

However, it's not the same thing. It often just means the police would like to question them, but they can't get hold of them. LE announce it in public, in part to urge the person to contact them, so they can be interviewed.

As an obvious example, they'd want to interview her to ask did she know anything about the crime. She'd probably been interviewed before she ran away with him, and may have covered up for him.

Well now I'm not sure if the car was registered to Huey or EP. I'm not sure it was every clarified in MSM or by LE, I will look for a source. But even if it was registered to NH, I think LE would have located their address from the registration and found that NH and EP lived together, so she would also show up as a person of interest, I would think.

Ivec confirmed that Paloma died in a hospital at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday in Tulsa. In a nearly two-minute video statement issued Thursday, Ivec said Paloma's death is being ruled a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

He said she was not involved in the Romeoville homicides and was "without a shadow of a doubt" asleep at the time of the killings.

According to Ivec, Palomo left around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with Huey, but was in touch with relatives through phone calls and texts messages and "seemed upset."

"She communicated with a number of family members, telling them things, such as 'I love you, take care of my grandbabies,'" Ivec said in the video statement.

Ivec said after Palomo's family stopped receiving correspondence from her and her Find My Family app was turned off on Tuesday, they reached out to Streamwood Police to report her missing.
"
The family wants to make it clear that Ermalinda had nothing to do with the murders in Romeoville," Ivec said Thursday.

He said that her family has spoken with detectives and answered all their questions to the best of their ability. The family also wishes to express their condolences to everyone involved, especially the family in Romeoville, saying, "they are also grieving and in shock."

I think it was the Puerto Rico News that first linked the vehicle to EP but all reports citing police or a police bulletin seem to indicate the vehicle was linked to NH. I've not found any MSM linking the vehicle to EP.

A car linked to the man was spotted by a license plate reader in Catoosa, Oklahoma, just outside of Tulsa — about 650 miles from the crime scene — when officers allegedly tried to stop the vehicle but it sped away, officials said.

Police caught up with the couple Wednesday in Oklahoma after locating Huey’s car in a department store parking lot. They waited until Huey and Palomo exited the store and got in the vehicle before attempting to pull it over.

The same bulletin listed Huey’s vehicle as a GMC Envoy and its license plate number, providing information that apparently led to the police pursuit in Oklahoma.

I apologize for not providing the links to the photos I included with my post. I thought I'd be able to edit that post and add the links, then upload the photos to it again - but I was unable to find an edit button on that post. Thank you all for bearing with me; I hope I've done everything correctly this time.

Here it is again, with the text from the original post and the photos with links to each photo's source:

The top photo is of the Bartolomei-Ronan family. It's the picture of the family that's been frequently used by online news outlets in articles about the murders.

The bottom photo I found on Ermalynda Palomo's Facebook page. Ermalynda is in the back, holding the little boy with his eyes closed.

Do you see any of the individuals in the top photo in the bottom photo too?

ETA: Both of these photos were taken several years ago, because the boys are age 10 and 7 now.

The gentleman in the front row of the bottom photo looks like Ronan (without his glasses), and the woman standing next to him on the right looks like Bartolomei.

The child being held by Ermalynda looks like the Bartolomei-Ronan's older son, while the child being held by the woman standing to the left of the gentleman in the center looks like their younger son.

This is the last photo EP uploaded on 9/2/23. I believe the child in question by OP is also visible in the Palomo family photo above -- wearing a blue print tank shirt and carrying a stuffed animal.

I get the impression that they are relatives of Ermalinda.

Wow. I am really going crazy trying to figure out the nexus/motive here. I hope LEO provides that information. But, maybe this will just fade away, no witnesses, no survivors, and the perpetrator is dead as well.

No trial here.

Local Romeoville media report linked below. They mention that Alberto Rolon worked at a nearby beverage distributor. Could this be a possible "nexus" with Alberto Rolon working as a warehouse man at a Euclid Beverage distribution center?

Rolon had worked for Euclid Beverage in North Aurora.

Just speculating on a possible nexus between NH and the family.

According to the Palomo family attorney, EP had no connection to the family. No "nexus" there.

Palomo had no connection to the Romeoville family killed on Sunday, Ivec said. Huey may have had a connection with one of the family members through their work, he said.

If this was work-related, it appears NH last worked in a machinery warehouse per EP's daughter.

Huey used to own a security company, had access to multiple weapons, and last worked at a machinery warehouse, Espinoza said. A public database showed Huey had a business connection to a security company.

And ZB worked for Chemi-Flex, a timing belt manufacturer—could the murderer have worked security there?: Romeoville police say killings of 2 parents, 2 children ‘not random’

Anyone have any idea why this passage from the article linked above refers to “federal bankruptcy filings”? Did the couple file for bankruptcy at some point? If so, how would they have been able to purchase their home in April of this year?

“Rolon and Bartolomei previously resided in Westmont in DuPage County, according to Will County property records. The previous owners of the Concord Avenue residence signed a warranty deed for the couple April 10.

Rolon worked for Euclid Beverage in North Aurora and Bartolomei worked for Chemi-Flex in Lombard, according to federal bankruptcy filings.”

^^bbm

The bankruptcy filing was referenced by the quoted MSM because this was the source used to cite Chemi-Flex and Euclid Beverage as their employers.

However, US Bankruptcy records are public information, and generally, cases filed as long as 10 years ago are easily accessible (i.e., anyone may call the court and verify if you have filed bankruptcy).

Actually, it's very much possible that the couple was no longer employed by the firms reported above and that they had different jobs/employers closer to their residence. MOO
