IL - Roberto Rolon, Zoraida Bartolomei and their two children, murdered, Romeoville, 17 Sept 2023

This was not random. My guess is that Huey had a working relationship with one of the adults. And I can be way off.
It’s weird, because their address history never puts them within a half hour’s drive of each other. Huey seems to be a wanna be cop, based on his Facebook page. I wonder what he did before…Log into Facebook

- “He’s a very dangerous man. He’s a huge manipulator. A huge manipulator,” Espinoza said of Huey.

“When I first met him, he wasn’t too bad of a guy. A couple of months ago, something switched. He was shutting all of us out, including my mom, and now this,” Espinoza said. “He started becoming suspicious … keeping to himself, staying in the garage. He started not being himself, pushing us all away, even my mom.”

- Huey used to own a security company, had access to multiple weapons, and last worked at a machinery warehouse, Espinoza said. A public database showed Huey had a business connection to a security company.

Thos is odd. How come he could not spell his wife name properly? Or are the newspapers wrong in the spelling?

Looks like he spelled her name the same way she spelled it on her Facebook page. Also, seems like sometimes it was spelled with an "i" instead of a "y" and that sometimes she went by Linda. A google name and address search states that information.

Is the female who was critically injured in the car crash/gunshot wound still considered a suspect or have LE now ruled that out? If she is a suspect, is she considered an accomplice to the multiple murders, I wonder.
They may not know for sure at this point. I do think it’s likely she’s an accomplice though.

Huey's company's Facebook page posted ads showing him armed, along with photos of guns and an apparent silencer, ammunition magazines, and a knife with the words, "I can and I will."

BBM

Huey's Facebook page showed he had a silencer, so maybe this is why the neighbors didn't hear anything.

So it sounds like Huey knew that LE were investigating him in the area where he lived (Streamwood, Illinois) but LE didn't have enough evidence to arrest him. As some point, he left the area and drove to Oklahoma with EP.

According to internal records, Romeoville Police stated Huey was aware they were investigating him for the quadruple killing, even at one point following investigators while driving recklessly.

The bulletin was dated Sunday, the day the bodies were found, and stated that there wasn't sufficient evidence at that time to arrest Huey.

ROMEOVILLE MURDERS: Police say a fiery crash in Oklahoma, today, where authorities found a man and woman shot is connected to the murders of a family of four in Romeoville Sunday.

Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Nathaniel Huey, Jr.

The attorney representing the woman’s family identified her as Ermalinda Palomo, 50, and says they both died.

Neighbors of the couple say they’re stunned. @ABC7Chicago

Wow, every photo has a recurring theme of...... family.

No indications of potentially hazardous associations such as images of: Pimped out weapons, gang motifs, "monster" dawgs. drugs, 1% bikers etc.

This is just awful.
Yes, it appears the couple were longtime sweethearts. Pictures of them as early as 2013.

And they appeared to take really good care of their two sons. The boys look very happy in their pictures. Dad looked like a devoted father. Heartbreaking.

An internal police bulletin < > describes him as “irrational and erratic.”

< > records reflect that Huey owned a private security company called Black Bear Security, LLC. The business was involuntarily dissolved earlier this month, CBS 2 reported. [ouch]

< > photos showing Huey armed, < >. Other images on the page showed guns, ammunition magazines, and a knife emblazoned with the phrase “I can and I will.”

Hispanic media is starting to mention a racial or hate crime as a potential motive.
I was terrified it was this from the beginning... I fear hate is becoming more & more normalized in our country and, really, world. We will find out more soon. I wonder if suspect's companion was a willing one, since her family reported her missing

I'm not sure we will ever know the "whys" or the events leading up to the slaying.
So incredibly difficult for the Rolon and Bartolomei families.

Was it possible that Ms. Palomo was essentially a hostage in the final moments ?
Omo.

Involuntarily? I wonder if the victims were involved in his having to dissolve his business, or if he perceived that they were?

The whole situation is terribly sad and makes one angry all over again. Reminds me of the family who were kidnapped by a former employee and killed. Those killed included a small child.
One comment on social media allude to a domestic violence angle.
There is no reason a family should have been executed in their home. I am hopeful that police can provide the families with answers.

A man sought in connection to the slaying of a family of four in the Chicago suburb of Romeoville was found dead inside a burning car in Oklahoma, authorities said Wednesday.

Nathaniel Huey Jr., a 31-year-old from Streamwood, Illinois, and a woman "with a relationship" to him were both called a "person of interest" before the woman was reported missing and in danger by her family on Tuesday night, Romeoville Deputy Chief Chris Burne told reporters.

A car linked to the man was spotted by a license plate reader in Catoosa, Oklahoma, just outside of Tulsa — about 650 miles from the crime scene — when officers allegedly tried to stop the vehicle but it sped away, officials said.

The car crashed and caught on fire as “officers on scene heard two noises believed to be gun shots," Burne said.

Officers found a critically wounded woman inside the vehicle and the man fatally shot in the driver's seat, Burne added.

That man in the driver's seat is "believed to be Huey," according to a police statement.

The fiery crash led to lanes of westbound Interstate 44, near Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa aviator-fun, to be temporarily shut down at about 11:30 a.m. CDT, NBC affiliate KJRH reported.

It is unclear what motivated the suspect to commit these murders, but it is clear that he was a dangerous man. I'm glad he couldn't hurt anyone.
