Interesting they found out she did visit her mother after all and was on her way back to Chicago, where earlier sources said, she never arrived. Did the missing date changed also?

Still in Namus is this: Sheena advised her family she was going to relocate to Iowa to see her mother and never arrived. The family has not been able to have communication with her since.

Namus states that the missing date is November 8, 2021. So this changed a bit. Header says November 3 <initial date of last contact>
 
This is very confusing. If I understand correctly, she went missing in November of 2019 after visiting her mother. She must have been found because she went missing November 8th of 2021 while on her way to visit her mother again.

Various articles say she was driving. What kind of car does she have? Has her car been found?

2019 must be a mistake or a typo. Her initial missing date/last contact was November 3, 2021.

Sadly I don't have access to the ID episode. I would love to watch it. Are there interesting things somebody can wright out? F.i. what secrets does she have (or is this just to sensationalize the missing case)?

This recent article Sheena Gibbs: Found or Missing? Is She Dead or Alive? might add to the confusion about missing date/last contact, but I found this things interesting:

- Sheena Louise Gibbs was born in Muscatine in Muscatine County, Iowa, on November 16, 1981.
- She later moved to Chicago, Illinois
- She is a cancer survivor
- Initially categorized as a “habitual missing” case by authorities due to multiple reports of her disappearance in the past, Sheena Gibbs’ situation has since been reclassified as “high risk.”
- By November 2021, she had worked as a home health aide at the University of Illinois Chicago, where she performed COVID test scheduling.
- She started dating in early 2021, living with her boyfriend in Rogers Park, Chicago.
- Her boyfriend had allegedly thrown a coffee mug at her during a bitter argument, but she went back to life with him.
- Because of her mother, who didn't wanted to go to a care home, going ill she used to travel back and forth from Iowa to Chicago to care for her mother and even considered relocating to her native state.
- Last known communication was on November 8, 2021, a text message.
- Sheena Gibbs failed to appear for a planned visit to her hospitalized mother and has remained untraceable ever since. So what is it? Is this the right narratieve or was she traveling back to Chicago, IL after visiting her mother?
- Her usual mode of travel to Iowa was by bus, yet there is no documentation of a bus ticket purchased under her name, nor any proof that she boarded a bus departing from Chicago, Illinois.
 
Ok, this might clear up the mess ourquadcities.com made of it. 'Disappeared' to feature Sheena Gibbs

Gibbs, a Muscatine native, lived in Rogers Park in Chicago. On Nov. 3, 2021, she learned her mother had been hospitalized in Davenport and told her aunt that she would be in Davenport on Nov. 4. That was the last that her family members heard of her. When she didn’t arrive, her family assumed that she had not been able to make the trip.

After the Thanksgiving holiday passed and no one had heard from her, Gibbs’ family filed a missing person report. Gibbs usually traveled to Iowa by bus, but there has been no record of her purchasing a bus ticket or boarding a bus in Chicago.

The last trace we know of Sheena is that her phone ping was traced near Winthrop Harbor, IL near the IL/WI border, an area where sex traffickers have been known to operate.”

Note: IMO the sex-trafficking angle is very unlikely.

From the Disappeared episode it sounded like she was bussing between Iowa and Chicago, I know lots of Chicagoans without cars, you don’t necessarily need one to live downtown.
 
As a Chicagoan, Chicago is a huge place and lots of people consider boardering suburbs and cities “Chicagoland” with that said, this episode of Disappeared probably gave the least information I’ve ever seen. I never have heard of this missing person case in Chicago prior to disappeared episode. Maybe the lack of family in Chicago or lack of family involvement. Sad nonetheless. They kinda alluded to in the episode a lifestyle of “questionable choices”, was / is the greenleaf hotel / hostel associated with that “questionable lifestyle” (oldest form of employment) ? Was the “boyfriend” a “boyfriend” or handler? Was this the “human trafficking “ angle people were hinting at ? Reminds me of the Erica Thompson from nearby Brookfield, IL. Just outside of Chicago. Disappeared in sept 2019 from home. There was a questionable boyfriend too then nothing. Found a phone a few hours away too. There’s also serial killers preying on women of color in Chicago that some reporters have been tracking for a few decades.

Read some reviews about this particular hotel. Absolutely nothing points to "the oldest form of employment" going on, at least not very obvious. There is one remark about people staring at you in the pool-bar in the evening....is that it?

In the episode the friend from Iowa commented the greenleaf looked like a boarding house / they play it off like an air b n b on the website. I’ve seen negative comments both ways where it’s more a hostel than hotel or air bnb online. Her friend also commented the Chicago police alluded to a “lifestyle” in these type of “hotels” and that environment. Maybe it was close to where she was living with boyfriend in Rogers Park and that’s why she stood there, last minute , another argument? Maybe didn’t want him to know she was back. Secretly in the area. I wonder how close this was to where she was living with boyfriend as it said they lived in Rogers Park.

I’m very familiar with the area. What I was curious was how close they (the boyfriend) lived to the greenleaf. It mentioned they were living in Rogers Park as well. Like was it down the street a block or two away? Why was she there ? It mentioned she checked out of the on the 5th of November. I don’t see any mention of the proximity to where they were living from Greenleaf. Someone in an FB group mentioned there was never a bus ticket found of her travels or record in her name of a bus ticket.
 
A true crime podcast released today. With updated details. It has about then greenleaf and another motel the edgebrook, she was at before the greenleaf. Some good information that might’ve been edited out or disappeared episode or for whatever reason not used.

Sheena lived in Chicago, but sometimes came to the Quad Cities area to visit her parents and other family members. She was staying in Davenport right before she disappeared, and she mentioned a job interview in Chicago.

“I thought, ‘Why is she going for a job interview when you were thinking about coming here to help take care of your mom?'” her aunt said. “So the logic behind her wanting to come home to take care of her mom is because we really didn’t want her mom to be in a nursing home. So it was an ideal situation.”

Police searched in Chicago. Her phone’s last ping was in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, a community on the Wisconsin border.

“That was probably the most heart-wrenching thing that I’ve done, at least in a long time, to travel to an unknown area I’ve never heard of or been before, looking for my niece,” Lela Tarver said.

Flyers, Facebook pages, and a podcast all have failed to provide the answer. No person of interest has been named.
