A search is underway in far northwest suburban Cary along the banks of the Fox River for a 28-year-old woman missing for 14 years.

Cary authorities said “new information came to light” recently in the disappearance of Wendy Kimura, who on May 20, 1999, took a train from Chicago to Fox River Grove to spend the night with a friend who lived in the 200 block of Northwest Highway in Cary.

She was last seen walking along Route 14 in Cary the next day, Cary authorities said.

    From the above link:

“Fourteen years has passed, a lot of things could have happened in the last 14 years,” Synek said. “Even if people think it’s insignificant ... if someone thinks they (know) something related to this case, if it’s a friend of a friend, a rumor, please share that with us. We really could use that information to help lend some direction in this case.
