IN IN - WILLIAM CLYDE GIBSON - New Albany - 2012

Gibson is now in Pre-trial for the murder of Stephanie Kirk. The jury will be selected from Vanderburgh County. He was found guilty and pled guilty regarding the murders of Christine Whitis (convicted) and Karen Hodella (pled). The trial is scheduled for 6/6/2014.

He was ordered to cover a tattoo on the back of his head that reads "Death Row x3." He's also been styling his mustache with the earwax of fellow prisoners.

Gibson's next trial is moving along "is on track" to begin. I guess this was news since we've learned that we expect the long delays due to all of the usual delays and don't think a trial can happen within years of indictment.

Actually, one of the main point of the stories centers on how he's been "forced" to grow out his hair to cover up the "Death Row x3" tattoo covering Gibson's head. If he really killed those people, he should be allowed to prejudice jurors with his foolish tattoo.

Today, neighbors told us what it was like living next to a serial killer. Neighbors like Mike Andres, who feels a chilling memory when he looks at the home across the street that used to belong to Gibson.

"Well, it was like a shock, like what the heck," Andres said. "And then slowly but surely we started getting the news."

Andres said he was haunted by the fact that Gibson lived feet from his front door.

"...and what transpired in there, and it was like, 'Wow!'" he said.

William Clyde Gibson III strangled Stephanie Kirk before performing sexually deviant acts on her body — and at some point broke her spine — in his New Albany home, prosecution witnesses testified Monday.

The disturbing details of the March 25, 2012, slaying were recounted by witnesses called to support the prosecution's request that Floyd Superior Judge Susan Orth sentence Gibson to die for killing Kirk, 35, of Charlestown...

A final prosecution witness, Floyd Probation Officer Clare Banet, testified she'd seen Gibson monthly after she was assigned to supervise him after his release on felony theft charges in September 2009 and was surprised when he was re-arrested for murder. "I never noticed any violent tendencies from him," Banet said.

So he broke at least two of his victims' backs?

Floyd County Prosecutor Keith Henderson began his closing arguments by saying that Gibson deserves the death penalty because of Gibson's criminal deviate conduct He pointed out gruesome details of Kirk's sexual assault that he read from a written statement from Gibson. He said the bruises found on Kirk's body "tell us a lot as it relates to this criminal deviate conduct."

"He controlled his victim," Henderson said. "He controlled Ms. Kirk. All the way until she took her last breath."

Here is a excellent 11 page article with timeline and videos on William Clyde Gibson III.

I'm amazed that there isn't more interest in this thread. Has he been linked to any of the serial killer threads?

I'm glad you put that link here. I was reading about him on CJ and I could only find the two articles linked in their latest story.

Call me stupid, but I got such a kick out of what the Galleria victim says...

...victim said in an interview. “He was nasty. I knew it then

And he didn't even have that ugly tattoo yet!

So he broke at least two of his victims' backs?

He's quite an AH and very proud of it, too. Hope you've noticed that by now (I'm sure you have).
He's far beneath PWT or whatever slur you'd throw at someone like him.
He's having a great time, it seems, reveling in all of the horrible things he's done coming to light.

Look at his tattoos!
The one he got to commemorate that murder,
and the Death Row junk he put on his head.

I guess it's safe to be thankful that my sorta-home area has one of the absolute trashiest serial killers around. And that he's in jail.

One of the only quasi-good thing that happened in relation to Gibson was that Floyd County got some money to help with their budget.

http://www.wlky.com/news/finances-tight-in-floyd-county/27589036#!bGkiUo

The county recently received $20,000 back from the judge in the Clyde Gibson murder case.
It was money allocated for the trial that did not get used.
