Search for missing Wexford man Patrick 'PJ' Fanning enters its eight day

Land and sea searches have now entered their eighth day for a father of two last seen in Wexford town.

Patrick 'PJ' Fanning, is missing from his home in Duncormick, Co Wexford since last Sunday.

His extremely worried partner Mellissa Furlong took to Facebook to urge the public to get involved in the ongoing search for him.

She said: “Everyone is tired I know...but let's go again today. All coastline and land area's to be covered. Please keep looking. Stay positive. I know I am.

"(His) car left McGee's pub (in) Wexford town on the 24th of February at 4:45am (where it was parked up) and seen left in the Ferrycarrig Carpark at 9:50am on the same morning.”

"The distance from the pub to the car park is six kilometres.

“Lights were seen on the car between 6.10am and 6.20am...If any one passed the car park or saw lights on please don't hesitate to contact me or (the) gardai. Any information at all.

The partner of a Wexford man who has been missing for nearly two weeks is appealing to the public to help take part in searches for the father of two.

Patrick Fanning (34), who is known as PJ, has been missing since 5am on Sunday February 24, when he was seen leaving Jim McGee's pub in Wexford town.

His partner M. F. (Yaya abbreviated her name) - who is expecting a baby in August - discovered his Audi A4 in the car park at the Ferrycarrig Hotel, with the keys still in the ignition, two days later.

Ms Furlong said Mr Fanning was wearing blue denim jeans, blue Adidas runners with white stripes, a light blue short-sleeved shirt and a black jacket on the night he disappeared.

Mr Fanning is 6ft, has blue-green eyes and short brown hair.

Another search has been organised to take place this morning.

"We are arranging to meet at the old Oak Tavern by the Ferrycarrig Hotel at around 9.30am," Ms Furlong said.


"We don't want to leave any stone unturned.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has seen Mr Fanning, or who can assist in locating him, to contact Wexford garda station on 053 916 5200.

Patrick Fanning (34), known as PJ, has been missing since the early hours of Sunday morning, February 24, when he was seen leaving Jim McGee's pub in Wexford town.

His partner Melissa Furlong - who is expecting a baby in August - discovered his 03 Audi A4 in the car park at Ferrycarrig Hotel with the keys still in the ignition two days later.

Land and sea searches have so far proven unsuccessful and Ms Furlong is urging members of the public to help find Mr Fanning.
