Tony Lynch from Fermanagh was last seen on Fermanagh Street in Clones, County Monaghan, on Sunday, 6 January 2002.

The father of four, who was 54 years old and originally from Magheraveely, had recently moved to Clones.

His family became concerned when he did not turn up for work that week.

A drone is flown over Drum Lake to try and establish if Tony Lynch’s car, a white Mitsubishi Galant, may have been submerged at one of these locations. His vehicle has never been recovered. Teams will be searching 16 bodies of water in the coming weeks.

The body of a man who had been missing for 18 years was found after a local fisherman detected an “odd shape” on the bed of Lough Erne while using sonar equipment, an inquest has heard.

Michael Anthony Lynch, known as Tony, had been reported missing by his family in January 2002 but it was not until 2020 that his body and car were discovered underwater in Fermanagh.
