And if one is not using WiFi it seriously eats into cellular data usage ($$!) just by having the webpage open.

Exactly. Just using WS does burn a ton of battery power (and data usage) even before this new problem cropped up. I try to stay on Wifi as much as possible when on this site.

Having video issues on top of page, getting ‘You have won at Cox’ and ‘Your Norton virus has expired’....and only on WS. I am not having this issue on any other sites or news feeds. This has not happened in years!!!! I have cleaned out all cookies several times, everything is updated, did hard shut downs....any other suggestions? thanks

    Picture in below message...sorry

MsJosie, when it happened to me repeatedly, this was all I could do to get rid of it on the iPad. Not sure about on a PC, but it is probably similar:

    Close Safari

How to remove “Congratulations-you-won.com-yourprize.com” pop up window on iPhone/iPad
    1. Select 'Settings' from the home menu (or one of the menus) of your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Select Safari.
    3. Choose 'Clear History and Website Data'.

The small side video has disappeared (thankfully). But, the banner-like, stretched-out video is still there at the top of each page. It blocks some things on the right side, like the names of any mods online for instance. MacBook laptop here.

Anyone else still have same problem?

The video on top is beyond annoying. It seems like you touch the screen, and it pops into its own page. I am on Android phone.

What a relief to see the video on the right side is gone completely when on my desktop. Thank You so much.

Same here! I always have to be careful when scrolling down to the thread that I don't touch it.

I'm on an ipad. The top video will take up the whole entire screen with no obvious way to minimize it. I've had to disable Java script once again.

It says "Powered by Primis" in the top right corner. Sometimes when I scroll past it, it triggers an "error 404" page. Hope this all will be fixed too.
