Yes I’m now seeing the same thing in my phone - it is different on the computer - the phone you can’t X out despite the x and it covers up the posting window - what a mess

    I disabled java script too.

If you are using google chrome, click on the little lock symbol on the far left side in the address bar.
    Click on Site Settings.
    Disable java script.

That might work for some folks. Whatever I have sacrificed for this will be worth it until the problem is fixed.

I am still able to go to my Watched Threads unlike the above poster.

Disabled Java made my Facebook page useless. So now I either go back and forth or just deal with the annoying video....or stay off WS (which can be difficult as many of us know).

Can you disable Java on the Site Settings for WS instead of in a general setting on your computer? I clicked the little lock symbol on the far left hand in the address bar for the Site Settings. There I could disable Java for this page only. I am still able to use all my other pages as they always were.

Only says using encrypted connection. Don't see a way to disable Java just for WS. I use Safari as my browser so not sure if same as what you use. And Mac OS Mojave

This has got to stop. Surely someone has alerted forum admins?

Surely they would have noticed themselves if any of them have been on here today? There's 2 posts about it but in my naivety, I assumed this post was the alert. How do I alert a mod to this post specifically?

I reported your post so a mod would be alerted. (Also, for future we can alert our own posts if we want).

Try this for Safari. Go to Safari preferences and click on settings for this website. Go to Auto-play and click never auto-play.

Yes! I’m willing to pay a fee vs having to deal with this totally annoying video pop up. Actually, I still miss Tapatalk days but know that ship had sailed. It was the best.

In what you have posted, go to Auto-play, there should be an option to disable when you click on it.

Thanks. It was grayed out before but this time I was able to change it. However, now the video shows up but doesn't play. LOL.

Disabling Java was the only way to make it go poof completely.

I do not see "settings for this website" in the dropdown menu under Safari?

There's not enough real estate on my phone to let this sit in the corner and play. I am not a video watcher, rarely do I click on one. I much prefer to read the article. I hope there is a solution soon. Thanks WS mods!

When you go to the main safari menu, the dropdown should have this (you should have the WS open when you go to the Safari menu):
