Just remember to block only WS for Java or you will have problems.

Thank you! That's good for stopping the video from playing, but it still opens in the lower right corner and has to be x-ed with every refresh.

I’m sure a script had to be made in order for this to have happened... meaning I don’t think it just happened on its own. Not sure though. Does anyone know if these types of video ads effect data usage?

So you think this was done on purpose? Surely not... Yikes

What I’m having trouble with is having to see Fotis Dulos over and over again

Extremely irritating. Distracts my attention and it's nothing I want forced on me. I did try to block it, but nope, it still came back. Very unhappy about this.

Nothing is working for me to fix it on my iPhone. Horrible experience. My fingers keep accidentally hitting the video and it starts playing. Ugh.

Turning off JavaScript in iPhone safari settings will kill the video, but it also kills any way to follow threads or even to view “new posts”. No idea why that would be the case.

well, yes. In the top right corner of the videos it has a Primis logo. Primis is a “video discovery platform”. I don’t think it just generates on sites by itself, I think the site admin needs to add it manually.

It did not happen without a setting change to promote this video pop-up. Just a wild guess, but I think that video on every refresh does effect data usage.

The x to close it out doesn’t work all the time either - very frustrating

Alright where do we send the check?:D

Seriously. I’m happy to pay some member dues. It’s been an honor to be a member here, surely there’s got to be some costs, etc.

    Expressing gratitude. :)

Well, I DIDNT make any changes in my settings. So that leaves only one possibility. WS did something.

Besides the pop-up video issue, WS is the only site I use that provokes an Adobe Flash update warning (scam) and /or viruses detected on your computer warning (scam) pop-up. For me at least...anyone else having THAT issue as well?

Advertising pays the bills. Every time I open WS up, I get ads. All kind of ads. Lawyer ads. Dress ads. You name it ads.
Something flipped on WS today. Tech support could have been updating analytics, key words, any number of things. And it’s screwed up. Everytime Microsoft updates my computer, I get issues.

Yes. And the only site that gives me those “congratulations you’ve won” pop ups.

I know not to open any of those links, but they are driving me just as crazy as the ever-present video popups. Sigh...

It seems this must be connected in some way to add to $ite income. Sorry if I'm wrong, but why else force this on members. It's too big and pops up on every refresh. I hate it!
