    That recap was helpful, thanks!

I've long had a gut feeling that more people are involved than those mentioned by anxietykiller. Who the killer is and to what extent certain people are involved is still a mystery - to me anyhow.

After having discussions with a couple of people with connections to the area I would argue that Burke's involvement with prostitution goes further than just being a patron.

Some of my earlier analyses of LISK-

I don't like to get into typologies because I always believe there are deviations, but a disorganized killer would dump the bodies around his home or even on his property. This was a fairly organized killer. He was familiar with the area, but didn't live there. That's why I don't think brewer or Hackett murdered anyone- they lived too close. An organized killer, which is what LISK is for the most part, stalks his prey, and dumps them in his own personal graveyard. These were his trophies. He's highly sadistic, probably revisiting the scene, but with good justification for being there should someone notice him. He gets intense psychological gratification from the thought of his power over them, owning them in death, taunting others, and getting away with it. I venture he'd have been bold enough to be in the area during the daytime, with others, knowing they were dumped there.

Yes. This is a very, very sadistic, very narcissistic serial killer. Not all serial killers want the level of attention LISK was asking for. He called the victims sister and told her exactly what he'd done to her sister. He could relive the power, the control, the god like feeling that most psychopaths describe they get when taking a life. It may have also sexually aroused him, as sadists are aroused by pain. So even the pain of torturing the sister gave him intense gratification. He then laid her body, along with 5 others, in a 500 ft area. He knew once they were found that there could be no second guessing a serial killer was in town. He knew barthelemy would be identified and he knew the media would take note of how he outwitted the cops with his phone call (narcissism) and it would add to the sensation of the story, which as he perceives, is his power. I also believe he has LE knowledge and knew enough to know that the search parameters would then extend to the other beaches, where his prior handiwork lay. I think he committed the first set of murders and dumped some of the body parts where they'd be seen. Of course they got some media coverage, at the time, but it wasn't enough for him. He may have wanted them at the time to realize there was a serial killer lurking, or he may have been content with the attention momentarily. I personally believe that he wanted to be known as an SK all along and LE never put it together, thats why he laid the GB4 out so close to one another and close enough to other body parts that would match those found prior. I don't think it was a case where he was content with the earlier attention and escalated to ratcheting things up.

You're looking for a very visible narcissist. Someone who thinks he is untouchable enough to taunt the police and get away with it. Someone who regularly violates boundaries in his personal and professional life. Someone who will consistently and publicly shirk societal norms because they don't apply to him. I don't believe someone with this personality construct would be able to maintain employment unless they were their own boss, or they were in an occupation where they were insulated/protected. He's smart enough to change his MO, but too narcissistic to want it be unnoticed.

No offense to Maddalena, but for someone to say the person has a fragmented personality is very basic. All psychopaths are personality disordered, particularly in the Cluster B of the DSM. Thats the cluster where the "mask wearers", or fragmented personalities reside.

Maybe, he was warning him that he was getting too close to someone who had figured him out?

The first person to tip on Lindsay was arrested and put in jail on an aggravated harassment charge, which quite frankly, isn't a charge that people spend 8 months in county for.

    Hi all.

Came here to read about Bissett involved in Shannan's murder.

Why are you discussing Lindsey Henry, James Burke, Portela and others?
This thread is supposed to be about Bissett.

So I just want to know
    why did the killing stop?

Because James Bissett was murdered in the park. That's what I think.

    Have a nice night.

Because if Bissett was the killer they'd get on every single channel and put it on the front page of Newsday. Plenty of SKs have died and their kills were cleared after. SCPD has every reason to pin this on Bissett. They'd announce he was a suspect, if not the murderer, after his death. They didn't do that. Probably because there is absolutely nothing of extreme significance to tie him to the case. The Feds are actively questioning people relating to the individuals I mentioned above. If it was Bissett, why investigate those schmucks?

The logic of corruption. Congrats on just having joined and quickly making your first post. Have a nice night.

    Thank you.

In Riverhead, the talk is that Bissett and Lanieri were very involved in the killings, henceforth,
the double suicide's of Bissett and Lanieri, and then down the road, the wife of the construction contractor
for the Aquarium and the business partner of Bissett and Lanieri. Remember, the wife "accidentally slipped off the boat"
and was not found until the next day.

    This thread is about Bissett.

And I'm telling you that the FBI and the good ole boys in Yaphank know Bissett isn't the killer. They have every reason to pin it on him.

Thank you, IMO Burke is responsible for negligence not murder. We are looking into leads that match to Bissett. Not Necessarily to prove he was the killer (Idont think he was), but to see if he had interaction with LISK which could also explain his "mysterious suicide". Maybe the killer was a regular customer? MAybe he knew Bissett through business or friendship. Maybe he met Shannon Gilbert through Bissett or vice versa. We cant claim anything for certain, only speculate for now, but Shannon Gilbert knowing Bissett leaves me to believe he had an interaction with LISK before his death. I am interested as many other members are in finding the killer. Any sketchy person possibly connected to Bissett Nursery is a POI worth checking out. The crazy Kung Fu Landscaper is one!

Do you think it would help to link Bissett to Jerry? What relevance is that do you think? I can offer a small lead.

It's just another hunch tbh. That would prove access to burlap sacks (which is already confirmed, he is/was a landscaper) and possibly to Shannon Gilbert. If she answered one of his ads the police or someone in her family would have a record on their end if they have access to her emails. Im sure he gets ALOT of emails by the way he posts. Again, we dont now for sure, but this rabbit hole seems to go veeeeery deep.

"Why would the chief of police not make sure his own team would never have evidence to investigate?"

Remember, it wasn't one of Burke's team who found the first body. It was an officer and his service dog from (I think) another jurisdiction. I don't believe they would have been found by any of Burke's men had this chap not gone out there himself.

Some of the remains were dismembered and if LISK is as sadistic as I believe he is it's probably ok to assume that the victims were were kept alive for a time and tortured. I don't think they were dumped at the time of their deaths and I don't believe there is any definitive time frame for how long the bodies were on ocean parkway.

There is some truth to the report where there was a hole in SG's hyoid bone, the NewsDay article was vague and didn't go into specifics.

Either you or JJJustice mentioned a technique of strangulation where pressure is placed on one side of the trachea. One of my sources has suggested that there is autopsy evidence to suggest this method was not used. Not on Shannon anyway.

We don't have the Craigslist posts that I am aware of but I believe anxietykiller (or some other websleuther, I do not recall exactly who it was) has determined the working names of at least a couple of the victims.

But the thing is, if we're uncovering this stuff and he's such a known entity around that town, don't you think the town's PD has had him on their radar.... basically for like the last 30 years?

I agree, this started as pure speculation and evolved piece by piece. He is overcome by darkness and needs to see the light. He needs to face whats coming to him LISK

I have self studied universal spirituality and found the most truth in native American specifically Lakota beliefs. It's really not that much different throughout the world if you go back before organized religion. I am of the belief that once lisk is incarcerated, the evil will leave him because he can no longer serve the dark forces. This energy will try to find a new host that is weak.

So in the end it wasn't his actual self doing this but the evil entity working through him. Very interesting perspective..Makes sense
