Crazy people will use whatever they can find: homemade pipe bombs, molotov cocktails, flamethrowers, fire, etc... you name it. I think we need to keep a better watch on crazy folks that show signs of doing this attacks.

"A knifeman was arrested when he confessed to killing at least 19 people and injuring 45 in a stabbing frenzy at a centre for the disabled in Japan.

The attacker went into the centre in Sagamihara, outside of Tokyo, brandishing a knife at around 2.30am local time.

Police were called to the scene after residents saw a man armed with a knife in the grounds of the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden.

Asahi Shimbun reported that the suspect was quoted by police as saying 'I want to get rid of the disabled from this world.'"

26 year old male is the attacker clearly with serious mental health issues. May the dead Rest. In Peace and my thoughts and prayers are with the victims families, the injured victims and staff.

No wonder LE are often proactive when it comes to people holding knives, it is shocking the amount of damage that can be done to others within a relatively short period of time, imo.

Until today, I never connected the term rampage killer to a psychopath wielding a knife.19 killed, 20 injured, that we know of so far from a staff of 8 and permanent patients numbering 149. That's roughly a quarter of the number of people in facility at the time of the attack, from the figures in MSM. If the Mirror and RT are correct it's even worse. They claim that there are 19 dead, 45 injured in the attack. That's close to 41%. There may have been more people in attendance if there was a shift change, or if there were visitors.

I think it's time for the media to start considering a blackout on reporting this kind of thing.
I have to run off for now so can't do a detailed post but was reading earlier how on when the media agree to stop reporting on a phenomenon, statstically that phenomenon is drastically reduced (not just in perception, but hard stats).
I'll have to look it up later, but copycat crimes and incidents are a real thing.

Knife attack kills 19 at Japan disability center, official says

Police had recovered a bag with several knives, at least one stained with blood, the Kanagawa prefecture official said.

Police said they were still investigating possible motives.

Asahi Shimbun reported that the suspect was quoted by police as saying: "I want to get rid of the disabled from this world." Other reports said he had held a grudge after being fired from his job at the facility.

Twenty-nine emergency squads responded to the attack, Kyodo reported, with those wounded taken to at least six hospitals in the western Tokyo area.

A man identified as the father of a patient in the facility told NHK he learned about the attack on the radio and had received no information from the center.

Poor souls who survived but witnessed that betrayal and horror, if they knew the perp when he worked at that institution, how would they trust anyone again? imo.

Japan knife attack: Who is suspect Satoshi
    Uematsu?

One local woman said knew Mr Uematsu, and he had "a cheerful impression" and was "the kind of person that would greet you first".

But a darker picture emerged of him when police revealed that in February he had taken a handwritten letter to Japan's parliament saying he would kill 470 severely disabled people if authorised: "I want Japan to be a country where the disabled can be euthanised."

He was subsequently taken to hospital but released about two weeks later.

Japan Alleged Mass Murderer: 'All Disabled Should Cease to Exist'

Shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday (3 p.m. Monday ET), Uematsu entered the site by breaking a window. He then tied up a staff member, stole a set of keys and then began stabbing residents, Sakuma said.

In addition to the 19 people fatally stabbed, 25 others were wounded.

Uematsu later turned himself into police in Sagamihara, which is around 25 miles west of Tokyo.

The Kyodo news service published a letter that it reported had been delivered by Uematsu to the office of Japanese lawmaker Tadamori Oshima on Feb. 15. According to the report, Uematsu said that he planned to "wipe out" 470 disabled people. The site he targeted houses about 160 people.

The manifesto prompted the local police and health officials to get involved, a local mental health official told NBC News. On Feb. 19, Uematsu was committed to a psychiatric facility.

During his time under treatment, Uematsu tested positive for marijuana use, according to the spokesperson.

He was released on March 2 after doctors concluded he was no longer a danger to himself and others.
