Quiche, I don't know what is up for sure but I would not trust that website and anything they post.

I tried to click on that youtube video to watch it on youtube and see what people were saying about it. I could not do it and with some work finally got the address and it turns out it is posted private by http://www.floridaoilspilllaw.com/ on youtube which is http://www.youtube.com/user/OilFlorida and a who is lookup of Oilflorida and enenews.com appear to be the same company or at least hidden the same way.

I followed http://www.floridaoilspilllaw.com/ during the BP oil spill and they played around with the facts a lot. For some reason they have that video posted unlisted on youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5JG0vzvvu0&feature=player_embedded

I get info from that site all the time. It seems to me it's just a collection of reports and data from other sites.

Good Heavenly Days! SCRAP the LIMITS to get enough workers??

Japan to scrap workers' annual radiation dose limit at normal times
TOKYO, April 28, Kyodo

The health ministry plans to scrap the annual radiation dose limit for nuclear power plant workers at normal times for the meantime to secure enough workers for maintenance and checkups of nuclear power plants other than the crisis-hit Fukushima power station, sources close to the matter said Wednesday.

That is what I am seeing too. It just bothered me when I saw how the video was hidden and who owns the site.

We all knew this was coming-- now I'm bracing for the public's numbers to be adjusted.

So, do you think they are skewing to protect the nuke industry, or to favor the oil industry? :waitasec:

America’s Nuclear Nightmare
The U.S. has 31 reactors just like Japan’s — but regulators are ignoring the risks and boosting industry profits

Quote: In the years ahead, nuclear experts warn, the consequences of the agency's inaction could be dire. "The NRC has consistently put industry profits above public safety," says Arnie Gundersen, a former nuclear executive turned whistle-blower. "Consequently, we have a dozen Fukushimas waiting to happen in America."

They are preoccupied with a certain upcoming wedding, a certain famous dude's birth certificate, and a certain misbehaving starlet who's bound for jail. Can we really expect them to cover a MOX crisis at Bad Boy No. 3 as well?

It's pretty scary when "we" have to do our own digging and be the investigative reporters on something so big that more than likely will alter the way of life for our planet for God knows how long!! But, then "we" don't have agenda's or controlling owners and interests limiting us-we simply want to know the truth.:banghead:
The truth has become as scarce as finding a place in this world that hasn't been polluted by Big Oil or Nuclear Power or "fracking" from the Gas Industry!:maddening:

Read it & weep:

UPDATE 1-Q+A-What's going on at Japan's damaged nuclear power plant?

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/27/japan-plant-idUSL3E7FR2IV20110427

From your link--

Quote: If workers are unable to continue hosing operations, and if the nuclear fuel manages to melt through the bottom of the reactor and fall into a water pool below, this would result in a burst of high temperature and a sudden release of a huge amount of hydrogen explosion that could breach the containment vessel.

Should either worst-case scenario happen, high levels of radiation up to 20 km (12 miles) around the site could be dispersed, making it impossible to bring the reactors to a cold shutdown without great sacrifice.

BBM: A very optimistic figure that TEPCO often touts... other experts suggest as much as fifty miles will be dangerously contaminated, and too, they don't go as far as explaining what will happen if the containments are breached-- a very likely scenario that could happen at any time. jmo

Such a devastating mess.

Storms knock out TVA nuclear units, power lines
Wed Apr 27, 2011 7:25pm EDT

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011...edType=RSS&feedName=domesticNews&dlvrit=60573

>>>snip

Severe storms and tornadoes moving through the Southeast dealt a severe blow to the Tennessee Valley Authority on Wednesday, causing three nuclear reactors in Alabama to shut and knocking out 11 high-voltage power lines, the utility and regulators said.

All three units at TVA's 3,274-megawatt Browns Ferry nuclear plant in Alabama tripped about 5:30 EDT (2230 GMT) after losing outside power to the plant, a spokesman for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Agency said...

...

The NRC spokesman said early information indicated the units shut normally and the plant's diesel generators started up to supply power for the plant's safety system.

This is a home video of measurements taken at multiple locations in Fukushima city for radiation contamination. Fukushima city is roughly 63 kilometers from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant placing it outside of the exclusion zone. In some locations the measurements reach as high as 97 µSv/h. There Are NO Background Levels of Radioactive Cesium or Iodine both are man made substances emitted from nuclear fission reactors and increase the risk of cancer

This is from a blog that I follow and keeps me very up to date. He also has a youtube channel with lots of video updates.

Lousy translation, for sure, but do you think the idea has merit?

http://www.morphealth.com/sunflower-can-preventing-nuclear-radiation/

Benefits of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) not only found in its seeds that can be made kwaci. All parts of the bright yellow ornamental plant. This could be a drug ingredient, can even neutralize the effects of radiation from nuclear waste. The benefit is evidenced in the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor leak in 1986. When most of the water in the region of radioactive contamination, planting sunflowers on a floating raft capable of reducing the impact of radiation in waters up to 95 percent. The secret is the root structure is so dense and strong, so able to extract heavy metals such as arsenic and lead. Even the radioactive element can also be absorbed, including uranium and stronium-90 that can cause genetic mutations in humans.

I just had an image of vast sunflower fields in Japan... wouldn't that be wonderful? I firmly believe in the power of nature to cleanse itself, but what about those elements that don't occur in nature? Heck, if it can help, it seems like the Japanese would be open to employing it. jmo

Tepco Postpones Daring Plan to Tame Nuclear Plant

TOKYO—Officials postponed a plan to ramp up efforts to cool nuclear fuel at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex amid concerns that the use of thousands of additional metric tons of water could result in dangerous leaks.

Thank goodness for small miracles! Phew.
