Details of Disappearance
Floyd was last seen at her job at Hancock Fabrics in Tupelo, Mississippi on April 18, 1988. She got a phone call at work and left the store crying at 9:30 a.m. She has never been heard from again. Her vehicle was found at a Mighty Mart gas station on west Main Street the day after her disappearance.

Floyd left behind a one-year-old daughter and her mother does not believe she would have willingly abandoned the child. She resided in the 1000 block of Chickasaw Trail in Tupelo in 1988.

Her grandmother died in 2009 and, in her obituary, it was noted that Floyd predeceased her. Her case remains unsolved.

I wonder if her daughter has done DNA, any research to find her Mom or if the daughter knows who her father is?

She started popping up online in 2008 and this detail was listed back then but is not in recent posts.

This young lady's body was recovered along a stretch of Interstate 59 in Rising Fawn, in 1988.
Despite the best efforts of our agency, as well as the GBI, she has still not been identified.
She was estimated to be between the ages of 25 - 35 at the time of her recovery, and doesn't match the description of anyone who was reported missing around that time.
This is a new artist rendition of the female's face, as provided by the GBI.
PLEASE SHARE THIS, in hopes that someone might have some info as to the identity of this female.

I got thru enough comments on the Dade Couny FB post to see that a number of commenters are making the comparison. One commenter mentioning it may be her mother? The DCSO person running the Page seems to be aware of the comparison.

Who'd she receive the phone call from? No reports mention even "persons of interest". Unless of course, police didn't reveal their findings.
Assuming the caller was never identified, didn't her family and friends have suggestions as to who it could have been?
It was the days before cell phones were popular, so the caller knew to find her at work at that time. It seems most likely someone she knew personally or even a stalker.
Who answered the phone at her work? If it wasn't her, surely the person who did answer mentioned the sex of the caller. Was it a voice that has called there before?
Was it common for her to receive calls at work?
She was crying, so seems likely it was someone she knew more intimately - baby's daddy? An ex? Someone she was dating? Even a female friend who she pissed off?
Was it ever established who the father of the baby was and was he cleared?
Did she owe money? Could she have been involved in something illegal?
What if there's the possibility she was receiving obscene or threatening calls that upset her. Someone who felt jilted? Someone she wasn't even aware of, like a customer or a stalker?
It really boils down to who and what could have possibly made her cry. And why did they call her at work?
Did the caller tell her to meet up somewhere and that's why she left? Or did she just leave because she was upset?
There's even the random possibility the phone call had nothing to do with her disappearance, and by some some fluke occurrence, an opportunist crossed her path and capitalized on her distress.
The phone call really is the only lead in this case, and so very little information about it in the report.

good questions ... I have the impression that he committed suicide .. he could not have run away to meet someone like that nothing else but to run away it must have been something or very serious or that it involved his daughter or family .. it is very likely that is dead ..
she rests in peace.
