"Canadian-born actor Jim Carrey says he's "shocked and deeply saddened by the passing" of his on-again, off-again girlfriend after Los Angeles authorities confirmed that Cathriona White was found dead in her Los Angeles area home Monday.

White, a 30-year-old makeup artist originally from Ireland, was discovered unresponsive by a friend and pronounced dead at the scene Monday evening.

Pills were found next to the body along with a note that references Carrey, Los Angeles County assistant chief coroner Ed Winter told the Hollywood Reporter.

The coroner's office is holding off revealing a cause of death pending toxicology and other tests."

Jim Carrey also has struggled with depression.

Jim Carrey has discussed his treatment for depression, including Prosac and psychotherapy.

Unfortunately, this young woman was a Scientologist. Scientologists do not believe in psychiatry and think all psychiatrists and psychologists are "Doctors of Death". The also do not approve of their members taking any kind of psychiatric medications.

So I would guess there are a lot of people with untreated depression and a host of other mental illnesses within the Scientology organizations.

One source tells us a witness has said there's reason to believe Cathriona may have taken the meds from Jim's house, but that hasn't been confirmed.

She was married when she died and not to JC. Her husbands name has not been revealed. They are waiting to release it until he arrives.

The memorial service took place in the Irish village of Cappawhite in County Tipperary. This leaves a bad taste in my mouth. There are many media stories about this young woman's suicide and her relationship with Carrey and her husband. I feel for her, for her family, for Mr Carrey, but not so much for her legal husband at the time of her suicide.

I may be naive but if her boyfriend had given/supplied her illegal drugs, LE would have been all over that?

I am NOT trying to be insensitive here, but she was an adult, and it was still her choice to take the pills, even if they were his.

It sounds like to me that the husband just wants to embarrass Carrey and possibly get some money out of it. I don't know the man but I feel like he's a good person. He has his demons (depression) but I don't think he could live with himself if he had actually supplied her with the pills she used to commit suicide.
