"An 84-year-old Texas woman was arrested this month and charged with murder — 35 years after her husband was found shot to death inside their home.

And law enforcement is crediting a television show for helping solve the cold case.

Norma Allbritton was arrested July 1 and transported to the Leon County Jail, where she stayed until posting a $50,000 bond on July 3. Her husband, Johnnie, 64, was found dead May 14, 1984, according to The Eagle in Texas. Authorities said he had been shot five times as he entered his home.

According to a May 16, 1984, article in The Eagle newspaper, Norma arrived at their home with a child around 4 p.m. and found the door locked. She reportedly became worried after seeing guns through the window and called the police to request that officers check the home."

LE is also re-looking into the death (ruled suicide) of their 13 yo daughter Pam 3 years before Johnnie's death:

Anyone find out anything about Pam's suicide? One possibility is that Norma in some way blamed Johnny for it--and that was the reason Norma killed him.

Apparently the theory being investigated is that Norma killed Pam:

"A woman arrested in a Leon County cold case is now under suspicion for her teenage daughter's death in 1981.

Back in 1981, Pam Allbritton died after being shot by a rifle. It happened inside a home on Highway 75 south of Buffalo. The 13-year-old's death was ruled a suicide at the time, but that case is being opened up again.

“I saw Pam the night before she died," said Judy Robinson. She is Pam's half-sister and former stepdaughter of Norma Allbritton.

"She was so excited because her coach, she was a bookkeeper for the basketball team and they had just gotten back from Centerville from the basketball game. And she was so excited because the coach told her to bring her workout clothes, that she was going to start working out with the basketball team," said Robinson.

She has doubts the death was accidental."
