Songwriter Tom Springfield, the unofficial “fifth Seeker” who wrote many of the Australian folk group’s biggest hits, has died at the age of 88.
Springfield, who was known for being intensely private despite spending much of his life in the limelight, died on July 27 just over a week before The Seekers’ frontwoman Judith Durham would pass away at age 79.
