She has a quite distinctive nose, and I believe, there's a prominent mole next to her right nostril that probably would remain 9 years later if not removed..

Debbie is showing off her pearly whites so she did have pretty good teeth.

I'm not sure about the mole though. I can't tell if that is an anatomical feature or just the quality of the photograph which was in a book, that was scanned, then uploaded online.

I found this 1986 article on this case highlighted on a cold case blog -

In 1986 when "Miss Molly" was found, the Arletha Frazier case was unsolved. I couldn't find anything else online to confirm if it has been solved as there obviously could have been a connection there.

The first article I linked to also mentions a man with a beard and tattoos seen in the area and who they were wanting to talk to.

I wonder whether there is anyone on the forum who knows anything about TMJ surgery in the 1980s, and whether the facial scars could be typical of a particular combination of procedures to treat TMJ? I've found a photo of the wound from recent TMJ surgery here

and think it very likely that at the very least the scar in front of the ear could have been related to TMJ diagnostic procedures or surgical treatment of TMJ problems.

Interesting that you'd say TMJ surgery it certainly would account for the bruxism (although there are dozens of other possible causes for that). I'll try to find a photo of this particular one before I make any sort of call on it but from the description above it doesn't seem to be in the quite the right place for TMJ surgery. It's something the post-mortem probably would have picked up on but cannot be ruled out as a possibility. If I can find a photo I could tell but I'd say at this stage that it's somewhat unlikely.

Having said that, the extensive dental work on this woman are surely an excellent indentifier? Were here dental records ever published in a dental journal? I'm sure that if it had been the question of whether this woman had her dental work in the USA could likely have been answered.

Kathleen went missing in April, 1985...so if this is her she spent 8 months somewhere else. Kathleen is listed as 5'6 and her age and weight are consistent. She is from Texas, and a 12 hour drive from where this doe was found, but map it out, it's a straight shot up I35 to I 70. Kathleen had children as did Miss Molly, and Kathleen had a scar on her abdomen, though it doesn't say what that was from.

It looks to me like Kathleen has more prominent cheekbones, and Miss Molly has a somewhat larger nose.

Appendix scar and stretch marks on her abdomen indicated that she had carried a child and had given birth in the past. Also, her appendix had been removed, and she had scars on the left side of her jaw (there was a 1" scar on the jaw bone to the left of the chin and a 3/4" scar on the jaw bone below the left cheek); a 3/4" circular scar on the right knee. She had false fingernails painted bright red.
  [*]Dentals: Available. Teeth in good condition. Dental records indicated the victim had some recent orthodontic work completed that would be pertinent identifiable characteristics – a recent extraction of a tooth, root canal therapy with a broken reamer found, and both upper first premolars extracted and orthodontics done to close the spaces.
  [*]Clothing: She was located partially clothed in a beige Chantelle brand brassiere, size 32B, made in France, with French and European markings. yes i noticed the similarities too---she has not been completlely ruled out for (miss molly)--but there is some dis-matches on the dentals-so i dont think shes a strong possibility.(

I looked into her dental charts-- and the bruxing is mentioned as normal bruxing patterns--if she had tmj she would have bruxal patterns but they would be "abnormal"

Just completed a new recon of "Miss Molly"

Maybe it's just me, but I feel that someone who is 5'5", weighs 125 lbs and wears a size 32B bra is probably not as heavy-looking in the face as the recons I've seen for her. I believe her PM pic has lots of swelling to the face, and her chin/neck may look flabby due to the angle of the photo. I also think she looks way older in the recons than the highest age estimate of 35. I'm 37 and don't look anywhere near as old as she looks in those recons. So just MOO, but i think all recons are a little off in this case.
