Poor A. has a lot to deal with. I hope her family showers her with love and guidance.

She was so concerned about NC and I think the stable one in the group. I hope she can meet others that have been through the same thing.

Obviously we don’t know her but going by what we saw in photos and video footage especially, she has a very special bond with NC and was still taking care of him, calmly and with great maturity, even when surrounded by police. Now she’s pressing charges. She’s going to need a lot of support, she’s only 16, but I feel optimistic that she and her family will be a formidable unit. I wish her all the very very best.

On a technical level, how will this play out with various charges spread across three (potentially) different states? How will that be managed?

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to NewsNation Clare will be arraigned Monday. It is unclear who the alleged victims of these charges are.

Jacob Clare is facing kidnapping charges in Tennessee and Kentucky, where his son and niece lived, respectively.

Typically, California prosecutors will try cases in their state before extraditing a suspect to another jurisdiction, but a final decision about where Clare first will be tried has not been made yet.

The sheriff’s office was not able to confirm if Clare had passports or a weapon.

The Sumner County District Attorney General’s office said Jacob Clare has been charged with sex with a minor with special circumstances and oral copulation with a victim under 18.

Here's an article released today that says the same thing. Considering nature of crimes, it seems like AC's name is not going to be used in media anymore (hopefully).

Tennessee Amber Alert suspect charged with kidnapping son… OCDA | WFLA
If convicted as charged, Clare faces a maximum prison sentence of 14 years. He also faces other charges back in Tennessee, according to prosecutors.

The defendant is expected to be arraigned Monday. He’s being held without bail.

Gallatin PD said they hope this arrest will shed light as to who else could have been involved in this kidnapping. They are still actively investigating this case & hope this arrest will lead to more.
(a) A person is criminally responsible for the facilitation of a felony, if, knowing that another intends to commit a specific felony, but without the intent required for criminal responsibility under § 39-11-402(2), the person knowingly furnishes substantial assistance in the commission of the felony.
