Four people arrested after report that baby was being kept in shed/loft
Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff's Department arrested four people on drug and criminal abuse charges after a report that a 3-month-old baby was being kept in a shed/loft.
According to the arrest citations, the sheriff's department went to Barren River Road to help Social Services on a complaint that a baby was being kept in a shed/loft without water or electric.
Officials met with Virginia Keabler and Nicholas Nichols, the parents of the child. Virginia took them to the loft, which did not have water and was being heated with gas and electric heaters. The citation says the baby was sleeping in a laundry hamper with a pillow. The sheriff's deputy also saw three meth pipes.
During the visit, deputies said in the arrest citations, Roger Ramsey, 59, and Ronda Keabler, 50, arrived and stated they lived in the loft and the child's parents, who were also on the scene, Virginia Keabler, 20, and Nicholas Nichols, 22, were just visiting.
The deputy asked to search the loft and found several meth pipes, and two baggies of suspected meth.
The baby was placed in protective custody.
