Daniel Hostetler was sentenced Tuesday in Hart Circuit Court to 13 years in prison for first-degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence.
Just days before his case was scheduled to go to trial, Hostetler, 20, of Summer Shade, had pleaded guilty in August to causing the death of Brandon Crain, 19, of Munfordville and disposing of his body...
Hostetler and Crain had arranged to meet at the Dollar General store in Munfordville, where Hostetler picked up Crain and the pair drove along Old Cut Road. At some point, Hostetler pulled over and stopped, and an altercation between the two escalated until Hostetler struck Crain in the head, according to prior testimony. Hostetler then drove to a boat dock and dropped Crains body in the river.
