Scratch this... I just found the ruled out lost and I see Danielle has been ruled out.

Hi... New to this so forgive me if I am misposting or breaking rules. I came across this missing person, Danielle Marie Day, where there are a lot of similarities to this Jane Doe.

Danielle Marie Day – The Charley Project

Age, weight, height are within the range.

Also :

Danielle has 2 children, Jane Doe suspected to have had more than one pregnancy.

Danielle was addicted to crack and heroine so more than likely could have bad dental hygiene.

Both Danielle and Jane Doe have a rose tattoo above left breast.

Jane Doe isotope testing shows that she spent time in the mid Atlantic states in the months prior to her death, Danielle was living in New Jersey. She was also prone to disappearing for months at a time so hadn't been reported missing for a few months.

What is not aligned is:

Hair colour - but Danielle could have dyed her hair

Time of death - Jane Doe was estimated to have been killed 8 weeks prior and Danielle went missing that march. However, she could have left voluntarily, as she was known to do, and then murdered months later.

Breast implants and tattoo on buttock: this is the biggest red herring... I can get over the tattoo not being recognised due to decomposition but I would presume breast implants would still be noticeable even after decomposition

Again, apologies if I should post this somewhere else.

New to this but how do they rule a potential victim out? Just curious because an old friends Mom is on this list but no one has submitted DNA for reference.

Usually by dentals, fingerprints or obvious scars/marks/tattoos. Previous surgeries or medical hardware is used at times too. If you feel that this UID is still a possible match for your friends Mom, your friend can request to submit their DNA to conclusively rule this UID out. I hope this info helps and your friend gets answers. Does your friends Mom have a missing thread here?

Yes! Her name is Sharon “Shari” Rose Apgar. I will reach out to her son. Do you know who he would need to contact in order to submit his DNA?
Sharon was ruled out awhile back as being this Jane Doe. I’m not sure on what basis. You can contact any of the agencies listed on either girls’ profile. I might suggest the investigator for the Kentucky state medical examiner’s office, Amy Burrows-Beckham (502) 489-5209. As far as getting his DNA submitted, you can contact her NamUs representative. Amy Jenkinson (817) 304-8873, amy.jenkinson@unthsc.edu.

Hope this helps!

NAMUS shows Sharon as a rule out, but the tattoo and the wrist scar seem too coincidental. Hopefully DNA from her son would help get a definitive answer for him. I would think he should reach out to the Simpson County Coroner's Office or the Kentucky State Medical Examiner.

DNA Doe Project lists the contact person for Simpson Jane Doe's case as Regina Wells, DNA Database Supervisor of the Kentucky State Police, 502-564-5230. Therefore, I'm guessing she's the professional most closely associated with the case currently. Your friend might want to contact her.

The blue ring that was found near UP71 and is thought to belong to her appears to me to be Russian enamel.
Original

I found this ring which is nearly identical. V in a diamond for Vargas Manufacturing which began in 1940. Vintage Cigar Band Ring Guilloche Enamel Flower Sterling Silver Size 7 Vargas

Designer Vargas
The Vargas Manufacturing Company was founded in Providence, RI in 1945 and produced ornamental costume jewelry, prong set with clear and colored rhinestones, faux pearls and simulated colored glass stones (ruby, sapphire and opal) on sterling silver, 10k gold filled, gold plated and silver plated base metals. Many pieces designs (bracelets in particular) had 3-dimensional detailed surfaces layered with huge repousse scrolled leaves and textured berries set on an antique finish of silvertone and goldtone metal with smooth and shining surfaces on the interior of the jewelry pieces.
The bracelets, at least 1.5 inches wide, opened wide, were hinged and came with a safety chain for added security. Many of the jewelry designs were identical to those made by Whiting & Davis also located in Providence, RI, (sharing designs - the practice between competing costume jewelry houses was not uncommon in the 1940's and 1950's), and competition was prevalent in those days. Mark "V in an elongated diamond shape" since 1945, "VARGAS" ornamental jewelry since June 1945, "Vargas 10K GF", "Cradle Craft" in script on childrens jewelry, pendants, necklaces, pins, bracelets and finger rings in Sept. 1946, "a large V partly inside and outside a triangle" particularly on ornamental jewelry for children since Jam. 15, 1947, "Lucky Elephant" in 1960 and "Brazilia" in 1971, "Grandee" in 1971, "Bennard" in 1969. It is assumed that the company ceased operations in 1980.

Kentucky Jane Doe 2001 - DNA Doe Project Cases
Thank you posting this! I didn’t even think to check DDP.

According to the Doe network Kentucky Jane Doe had "Many missing or severely decayed teeth. Poor/negligent dental health", looking at the photo of Sharon I do not think she had a poor dental health, her teeth look perfect to me.

I think Michelle Lee Burchell--who is one of the only KY women not yet excluded--is quite a good fit.

Here are her NaMus, Doe Network, and Charley Project pages.

Name: Michelle Lee Burchell
DOB: Aug. 1972 (21 when missing)
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 105 lbs
Hair/Eyes: Strawberry blonde / blue
Last seen: 24-May-1994 (NamUs), 02-June-1994 (Doe/Charley)
Place: Bardwell, KY (NamUs) Hopkins, KY (Doe/Charley)

She would have been 27 in 2001 and has many of the same physical characteristics as the UID, including her hair color and the need to wear prescription lenses. I'd like to draw attention to her teeth, two (#2 and #15) of which are listed as "supererupted". Her photos (particularly this one) also show tilted incisors, similar to what the UID's #11 depicts, but I am not adept at reading dental notations/scans and will leave this comparison for others to examine.

Her last known location differs between reporting sites. Carlisle Co. LE are listed on her NamUs page, so her residence may have been in Bardwell, which belongs to that county. She is listed as last seen at her mother's residence in Hopkins County. If she remained in the area for the next seven years, purportedly with an abusive male companion, she would have been no more than a 2-3 hour drive from the Franklin dump site.

An issue with Burchell as a match is the isotope testing, but I'm not able to determine if she spent time during her childhood outside of southern Kentucky. I'm also unsure how much credence is placed in the accuracy of isotope testing.

For good measure, I've inserted a photo comparison below.

I’d be surprised if she hasn’t been previously compared, but she does look a lot like the recon. If she’s not already ruled out I’d submit her!
