RICHMOND — Gregory Todd, father of a missing Richmond woman, told the city commission Tuesday night that police officials had not responded in more than a month to his request for updates on their investigation of his missing daughter.

The sensitive nature of the investigation may not permit police to share all they know or all they are doing, Brock said, even with family members.

Vigil held for missing couple, one year after disappearance

It's been one year, and still, there are no signs of a missing Madison County couple.

Sonsaray Warford and her boyfriend Charles Walker vanished from their Richmond home last year. Since then both families have put together numerous search efforts and worked with police to try and get some clues on the couple's whereabouts. Wednesday night they held a prayer service for the couple, and loved ones are still holding out hope.

I live right here in Richmond, I know Sonsy's cousin, they know nothing really and I see nothing that is being done to find them. They just lived a few blocks from me.

Court documents LEX18 obtained reveal a twisted plot with numerous people involved. Based on the affidavit, police were told there had been a hit out on Charles Walker over a matter of stolen money, and that Daniel Keene and Matthew Denholm were hired to kill him. Documents indicates Walker stole about $180,000 from the man who hired the duo to kill him.

Denholm also pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in the 2010 deaths of Sonsaray "Sonsi" Warford, 30, and her boyfriend, Charles DeMarcus "Chew" Walker, 30. The couple had been missing for 21 months in March 2012 when their remains were found buried in a field near Richmond.

According to a police affidavit filed in 2012, Denholm was hired as a hit man to kill Walker, who had been targeted because he allegedly stole a large amount of money from a Richmond cocaine trafficker.

Warford, the mother of two sons, was killed only because she happened to be with Walker, the affidavit said.

Matthew Denholm is scheduled to be sentenced October 1. He faces life in prison without parole for 25 years.
