Kyron Horman - Portland, Oregon MEDIA AND IMAGES LINKS

The number of people involved in the criminal investigation went down. One week ago, more than 1,000 searchers, more than 200 detectives, and 42 different law enforcement agencies were in Oregon looking for Kyron.

But that was not the case Wednesday.

Only Multnomah and Clackamas County dive teams were out looking for Kyron, at an undisclosed location. The information the Sheriff’s Office was sharing was limited, but they kept emphasizing that they were still aggressively looking for Kyron.

In addition to the dive teams that were active Wednesday, a second round of a neighborhood search had begun. This time the focus was around a 4-mile radius of Skyline Elementary School, the location Kyron was last seen on June 4. In addition, a second set of interviews for Skyline parents, teachers and students was in progress.

Residents on Sauvie Island said they are on alert for clues about Kyron Horman's disappearance.

Earlier this week, members of a Multnomah County dive team were spotted wading into waterways around the northwest Portland island. Deputies later confirmed the search was part of the investigation into the missing 7-year-old.

The divers returned again Wednesday, deputies said. There is no word on their findings or what brought them to Sauvie Island.

Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, works at Intel's main administrative facility in Oregon, the Jones Farm campus in Hillsboro, the company said.

Kyron's biological mother, Desiree Horman, and his father were officially divorced in February 2003, according to Washington County Circuit Court records.

Carol Moulton said that Kaine, 36, and Terri, 40, have been together for seven or eight years and that they have been married for four or five years. The couple have an 18-month-old girl.

She said he visits his biological mother in Medford every couple of weeks and that Desiree, 38, came to Portland as soon as she heard about his disappearance.

Terri also has a 16-year-old son from a former marriage who has lived with her mom and dad for the past few months in Roseburg. The teen's father also lives in the area and the two are on a Boy Scout camping trip this weekend.

"He was so excited about his science project," said Carol Moulton, Horman's mother and Kyron's grandmother. "They had worked on it together. He was anxious to take it to school and show it off."

Friday began as a special day for 7-year-old Kyron Horman. His school in Northwest Portland was having a science fair and he was keen to show off his project to his stepmother.

So, instead of taking the bus near his home off Cornelius Pass Road as usual, he hopped into the car with his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, who drove him to Skyline Elementary School.

They arrived sometime after the school opened about 8 a.m., went to his classroom, dropped off his coat and backpack and he showed his stepmother his exhibit, "The Red-Eyed Tree Frog."

Horman, who has raised Kyron since he was an infant, snapped a picture of him standing in front of it that she later posted on her Facebook page. It shows a bespectacled and beaming short-haired boy wearing a blue "CSI" T-shirt in front of an exhibit with photos of bug-eyed frogs, an anatomical drawing of the creature and other artwork.

just wanted to point out the choice of words here. So was it mother or SM?

back to lurking

SM

We know for a fact (witness statements) that SM was seen at the school that day with Kyron..OTH!..We have no clue if his mother has ever been to his school before or met his teachers..I'd like to know the answer to that Q.

truth be told i miss the discussion threads... that being said...

i had observed over the past almost 2 weeks a lot of unanswered questions and many repeated over and over... i stumbled upon this today wich answers one question many have had, about the step brothers camping trip, I hope this at least answers that question for those who still question it.

ill copy the pertinent post and link you to the article:

Logan1 says:

I have to ask that you all get off the step-brother thing. I am a relative who lives in California and I assure you that "step-brother" was on a camping trip with his biological father from which he has returned and is now at the home of his mother and step-father along with his grandparents (Terri's parents.) Yes he did love Kyron very much but it is geographically and physically impossible that he had anything to do with this and I assure you he did not

Sheriff addresses internet rumors:

“The social networking sites with Twitter and Facebook, someone posts something and it gets out there,” said Mary Lindstrom with Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. “There is a rumor out there that Kyron’s been found and someone’s been arrested. No, that has not happened. It’s not true.”
