The discovery of the body in a shallow grave in the back yard of the residence where Jackson lives is the result of an undisclosed investigation by Natchitoches police and Natchitoches sheriff's deputies. Office. Jackson was questioned Tuesday, city spokeswoman Courtney Hornsby said.
The skeletal remains were taken to Bossier City for an autopsy. Authorities have yet to positively identify the body and are not speculating as to who the person is or how that person died.

City spokeswoman Courtney Hornsby said it is too soon to know if the body could be that of Anthony Kirkendoll, a 23-year-old Natchitoches man who last was seen alive Aug. 21 on Winona Street. Two Natchitoches Parish men, Trenton Law, 33, and Alvin Davenport, 37, have been indicted on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the disappearance and alleged death of Kirkendoll, whose body never has been found.

Hornsby says detectives are investigating every angle, but they don't yet know either the gender or race of the remains.
