    Circumstances of Disappearance:
The lounge operator was reported missing by his son on January 29, 1979. Boggs received a telephone call at his Florida Boulevard bar the day he disappeared. He talked for a while, then hung up and left to run an errand. He's not been seen since.
Boggs' stepson, Clifford E. Lewin, was found a short time after the disappearance sleeping in Boggs' car in Florida. A bloody knife and a shovel were in the trunk and he was charged with killing his stepfather. After a trial, Lewin was acquitted in 1981.
Lewin was the first person in Louisiana to stand trial for a presumed murder in which no body had been found.
Boggs was a retired construction worker whose hobby was his lounge. He was there every morning by 06.00 to make coffee for his regular customers.
