Birthday candlelight vigil takes place for missing Plainfield woman

A somber birthday weekend for a missing Plainfield woman.

Friends and family gathered Saturday night to celebrate Lisa Stebic's 41st birthday, which will be May 19.

They held a candlelight vigil where Stebic was last seen just over three years ago.

Plainfield, Ill. - It has been four years, but there are still no answers for the family of a missing Plainfield mother.

Friday is the anniversary of Lisa Stebic's disappearance.

Craig Stebic, Husband Of Missing Mom, Sued By Own Attorney

PLAINFIELD, Ill. (CBS) — An attorney for the husband of a missing Plainfield mother Lisa Stebic is taking his own client to court.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Dave Berner reports, Craig Stebic, whose wife was last seen in April 2007, is being sued by his longtime attorney, Dion Davi.

On Dec. 22, Davi filed a petition asking for payment of $10,371 in fees, and filed a motion to withdraw as Craig Stebic’s attorney.

A $75,000 reward has been on the table for information in the Stebic case.

The victim remains missing, the prime suspect still isn’t talking and the tips have run dry.

For the most part, tips have stopped coming in. Police get sporadic calls about Lisa’s whereabouts, Siegel said. Most are about locations they’ve already checked out, McQuaid said.

Often tips are sparked by a television show or a news story about the case, such as the Investigation Discovery segment on it that aired last week, though that episode did not bring in any new tips, Siegel said.

For years, arm-chair detectives have wondered what went on inside the Plainfied home of Craig and Lisa Stebic.

As of last week, they can take a look inside for themselves&#8212;if they contact Craig Stebic&#8217;s realtor.

The three-bedroom house in the Nature&#8217;s Crossing subdivision is the last place Lisa Stebic was seen after she left for a workout some nine years ago and never returned. The house is listed for $259,000, an apparent discount for similar homes listed in the neighborhood, according to the Redfin.com real estate website.

Lisa Stebic Missing 10 Years: Family 'Losing Faith' Case Will Ever Be Solved

This time there won't be a candlelight vigil. No memorial walk, no balloon release, no fanfare. On Sunday, the family of Lisa Stebic will mark the 10th anniversary of the Plainfield mother's disappearance privately, family spokeswoman Melanie Greenberg said. A decade after Stebic vanished, "the family is losing faith that it will be solved," Greenberg said.
