I wonder if the reason most of the visits are at night is to avoid being seen/interviewed by reporters?

I thought she was a social worker (not an atty) but working for the defense. My understanding is her job is to find and confirm any "mitigating factors" that may keep KC from getting the dp. The many hours of interviewing kc (and spending the night) would be to gather info that may be relevant to her defense. (ie: provide bio-psycho-social/mental health issues) if someone has a different understanding of her role in this - I would love to be enlightened!

You are exactly right! Thanks so much, wenwe! :blowkiss:

After reading your post, I decided to do a more advanced Google search and this is what I found -

" Jeanene Barrett is the Mitigation Specialist for the CJCC. Jeanene joined the CJCC in March, 2008 after having worked within the child welfare field for over eleven years. She is also a Criminal Justice adjunct faculty member at Westwood College. Jeanene received her M.A. in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, M.S. degree in Human Services Administration from Spertus College, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale."

Or else they'll wait to make sure they can be paid. Jeanne Barrett makes quite a nice sum doing what she does.

No, they go at night because they really ARE bloodsuckers! Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Anyway, if you're going to be sleazy, night time is the best time for that, IMO.

J Barrett's first visit was on 6/19/09. In 2009 she has visited KC 11 times. It would be interesting to see how many times she has been to see her in 2010.

I googled and found a site which contains visitation log (reportedly) covering period thru 4/30/10, w/ last visit on 4/16/10

There were three mitigation specialist visits in 2010:
2+ hours/January
about 2.5 hours/February
2+ hours/March
