"Something belonging to MM" was allegedly found in the van. Source: SF during her interview with HCW.
The "Something" has never been specified. (Not yet.)
It seems that the whole "fibre" thing has come out of nowhere.
Thanks. Appreciate the follow up. Bugs me when something is said once. Some times it is because it is not accurate. IMO much more will be coming out on him and the charges....plus hopefully evidence.

Or maybe that the victim was shown multiple sets of photos of different possible suspects but CB was in them all so that’s why she recognised him?
I am not certain but I think the point that FF is trying to make is that the victim didn’t recognise the perp from the crime (only 50% certain) rather she recognised him from photos she had already seen and became more convinced as she became more familiar with the photos. JMO and could be wrong.

SF: Are you sure you'll be able to charge Christian B. for Madeleine's dissappearance?

HCW: What we have now is still not enough to accuse him.

Thank you for your painstaking work on transcribing all this :)

I'm concerned by the bit I've picked out to quote. Hasn't HCW claimed elsewhere that they do have enough evidence (albeit not 'concrete') to charge CB?
Or is he perhaps making a distinction between the disappearance & the murder?

That is how it reads, but then isn’t that just… A crime committed by a stranger? He was unknown to her but she was able to pick him out from photographs, that sounds perfectly fine to me and like she got a good look at him. So I don’t get FF’s point if that’s what he meant.

The video Shonyakay kindly transcribed is from September 2020, just 3 months after the appeal.
It was October 2021 when HCW said they could proceed with a charge.

“Was the person who attacked you any of these men?”
“Could have been this guy”
“How sure are you?”
“Don’t know, maybe 50%”
If this is in the statement, you don’t have to be FF to demonstrate reasonable doubt.

Now, after the fact and importantly after the victim has seen a photo of CB, she has identified him as her attacker - with more certainty as I understand it.

Depends what else they’ve got and I be interested to know if the description details any mark (mole, birthmark) that corresponds with the mark described by HB of her attacker.

The DM (for what it’s worth) stated that she recognised him from TV.

I’ll be interested to see where his phone records show him.

This is the surgery IMO. His overbite has been corrected, I believe.
I wonder if it was the little girl on the beach who described CB as having 'rabbit teeth', that would make sense from a child's point of view imo.
The description above says he had moles on his body, we've heard a similar description given that CB has birthmarks all over his body.

“He has scars on his right leg (both thigh and hip), and birthmarks all over his body.”
Christian Brückner: Everything we know about the new German Madeleine McCann suspect
Would CB have needed skin graft for the dental/jaw surgery? My husband had to have skin grafts on his foot. Skin was taken from his thigh and left scars. Just saying.

I believe the surgery is done inside the mouth, so no visible scars on the face. BUT after reading a little further on this op, it might mean that the patient would have to have the jaw wired, so not sure now if it's actually this op that CB had.

Maybe he just had his wisdom teeth out

Evidence against Christian Bruckner - Part II |ep. 2925 Sept. 2020 | season 9

HCW: We don't have that (body parts), but the evidence we have doesn't give us room to think that Madeleine isn't dead.

SF: Do you have any kind of videos with him attacking... sexually attacking people?

HCW: I can not answer. Or I don't want to... I don't want to answer.

SF: Are they any uh special witnesses that you can say that are crucial to this investigation?

HCW: Officially I can't speak, because we are not disclosing what we have, whether they are testimonies, videos or photos. But there is no decisive person on whom the entire process depends.

SF: 'Till now you don't have any forensic evidence that allows you to put Christian Bruckner inside the flat where Madeleine was sleeping?

HCW: I have an answer, but we decided not to disclose these elements, because we decided not to disclose this. And so I can't say yes or no, because that would bring up thousands of questions. And I can't go into details. You have to believe me when I say we have more evidence. Here in Germany, our Public Ministry only publishes something when it is already solid.

SF: Will you have a case if you don't find Madeleine's body?

HCW: To bring charges we don't need the body. A person can be convicted without a corpse being found, but we have to be convinced that the person is dead.

FF: The people at the Public Prosecutor's Office and Mr. Wolters may be personally convinced that the girl is dead and that the suspect is the perpetrator, but whether that is enough to get a conviction in a criminal case is another thing.

Banner states: Russian Network - In The Maddie Case Braunschweig prosecutor seeks Russian friends Bruckner had in May 2007

HCW: For the Maddie case, it is very important for us to be able to prove that, at that moment, specifically, he (Christian Bruckner) had this cell phone and had not transmitted it to a third party.

SF: If you found that this number belonged to Bruckner, why is it being so difficult for you to find out who called him that evening?

HCW: Because we have the number that called you, but we can't assign it to a person.

Banner states: Prepaid card Nicole Fehlinger - Bruckner's accomplice in a robbery used prepaid cards

SF: Do you suspect that this number that called Bruckner could have been used by Nicole Fehlinger?

HCW: We investigated all the people who were connected to Bruckner at this point. This lady was an ex-girlfriend of Christian B. She is named as a witness. But we have no reason to think that she is connected with it.

SF: So still now for you Christian B. acted alone?

HCW: As far as we know yes.

SF: He didn't operate with any pedophile net, world net, it was by himself?

HCW: We have no reason to think that anyone else was involved. So we're investigating him.

SF: So as your investigation goes that number that has call him is interesting but is not from an accomplice.

HCW: We just don't know the tenor of the phone call. We don't know whose number it was. And we don't know what the relationship between people is. We are looking for a witness to know the content of the conversation. As I said this conversation was relatively long. Almost half an hour. It's not a short conversation. We hope someone still remembers this conversation. We're looking for her as a witness. We have no reason to think that the person is involved in the act.

SF: Do you have information that Christian B. uh knew babysitters from the Ocean Club?

HCW: I can not say.

SF: That's not the lead?

HCW: Right now, I can't talk about it.

Man to MS: Do you think Christian Bruckner knew the employees of the Ocean Club at the time?

MS: Occasionally he worked as a waiter, but he rarely worked. He earned money from robberies.

MS: It was Helge (Busching)'s idea for us to go over to the house and see what was there while he (Christian Bruckner) was in jail.

Man to MS: Did they already know what he had there or did they go to see what there was?

MS: He always had lots of things, videos, electronic devices, photos. Anything that gives money.

Man to MS: They entered the house. What do you find?

MS: We went to look at the house. In the background is a large living room and a kitchen. The house was already open. It was all on the floor. The police should have been there by now.

CB's former landlady talks for a few seconds. Nothing revealing.

(Documents shown - From the Diesel theft incident. Print is small, it is hard to decipher, but I captured what I could.)

That opened the truck covers, unscrewing them That it was not necessary to violate them. He has been in Portugal for three weeks. He has lived with money he brought from Spain, where he worked for some time and also begged. She lives alone, in these three weeks she has been living in the car, parking in the Meia Praia area of Lagos. They took off in the blue-coloured Bedford tuition AZ-42-47 vehicle that he and Christian owned, which they bought in Odiaxere bu a couple of weeks ago from some Moldavians who have a workshop there. That I had thought to return to Austria before Easter.

(Bigger print and highlighted excerpt)

Who does not have a fixed residence in Portugal. He came to Portugal four weeks ago. He met Michael here in Portugal three weeks ago and has been living with Michael in the car parking by the Beaches.

MS: It was Helge (Busching) who found her. He's always looking for electronic stuff. He took the camera and a car, an Opel Corsa.

Man asks MS: What did the videos contain?

MS: In the videos, it was seen the rape of an old lady and a girl who must have been around 15 years old and was tied up at home. He had a pole or a tree in the house.

Man asks MS: There's no doubt that it was Christian?

MS: As for the violations, there is no doubt, as for Madeleine McCann, I know nothing.

Man asks MS: Was there a lot of violence?

MS: No, he's a psychopath, Christian Bruckner. At one point he wanted his wife (Obviously not wife - Lost in translation) 55 years old to perform oral sex on him and she threw up and he started saying: "Oh my beautiful rug, my beautiful new rug." I won't forget about it.

Man asks MS: What do you think he would do for money?

MS: Actually, everything.

Man asks MS: Homicide? From an adult?

MS: For money... He was very greedy.

Man asks MS: Is it a child?

MS: I can't even imagine that.

Man asks MS: Have you seen the videos? Violations were seen. Christian B. was involved. I already knew he was a rapist...

MS: Yes, I knew, but he was sick, I didn't want to have anything to do with him. And a psychopath. Dangerous. For him (Helge Busching), it was only interesting to speak in the videos from Greece. That's when he talked about it again.

Banner: Bushing sentenced to 7 years in jail 2015

Released Long Before Time 2017

MS: A guy from the LKA (Braunschweig Police) came to see Lamia with me, but he didn't mention Madeleine (McCann). I just wanted to know about the violations.

Banner: NO VIDEOS - Authorities never recovered these videos and are still looking for victims of these violations.

A picture of DM is shown and DM documents are shown.

Foto 7 - General view of the victim's room, where she claimed to have been molested. The quilt indicated by the victim is indicated as used to cover the window for the outside.

Foto 8 - Quilt detail.

Foto 9 - Bed where the victim claimed to have been molested.

HCW: For the court, it was the hair (of Christian Bruckner) and not the depositions.

SF: Do you have the videos of a Bruckner raping woman, the videos that Manfred and Helge claim to have seen?

HCW: No.

Man asks MS: What did it look like (Christian Bruckner)?

MS: It looked bad, not like before. He was no longer well dressed.

Man asks MS: Did you have money when you arrived, did you come well dressed, did you look good?

MS: It was a hippie festival, old cars, etc., and he arrives with an American Winnebago caravan.

Man asks MS: How much did it cost? Have an idea?

MS: Maybe 10, 15 thousand.

Man asks MS: Who were Bruckner's friends?

MS: I only know Tatschl, I don't know him any more friends. The woman from the Algarve, but I only know what he told me.

Man asks MS: Was that woman Nicole Fehlinger?

MS: I don't know, I've never heard her name.

Man asks MS: Are you sure this girlfriend or acquaintance of Christian Bruckner received troublesome girls?

MS: That's what he told me, that he had some girls.

Man asks MS: Did you already know about this girlfriend before Madeleine disappeared?

MS: Yes, before the Madeleine case.

My understanding of the MWT doc is that it was originally edited to be 3 x 60 minute episodes. This is the version that was sold to AMC crime and broadcast in Spain over the last 3 weeks. It was also the version that was meant to be broadcast in the UK but it seems Channel 5 (for whatever reasons) requested a shorter version of it and so the 3 episodes were cut further to produce one 90 minute special.

It seems the 3 x 60 minute version of the doc will also be available to view in the UK at some point too. I suspect that version may provide some additional details to the main points already covered in the 90 minute version but not any major new insights. The version seen in UK was essentially "the best bits", or the highights I believe. I suspect the other version contians a lot more waffle and shots of MWT staring out to sea... maybe a few bonus drone shots if we're lucky.

From 18:44 until the end of the program.

Disguised couple: From the pictures I've seen, it matches the person we found. But still, he presented it as being... The owner of the yachts. He introduced us as if he owned Vilamoura's yachts. When he spoke of the Russians, he said that they were the best customers in the purchase of yachts.

Banner: "Isabel"
Nicole Fehlinger's Former Employer and Assault Victim

MS: After the trial in Braunschweig I went to Frankfurt and the LKA or the BKA came to pick me up and they said it was about the murder. They didn't mention Madeleine McCann, but they said it was a case of murder.

Man asks MS: So did you talk to BKA? About the murder?

MS: They said it was murder, and then asked if I knew two Russians in Spain. I said I don't know any Russians in Spain.

Man asks MS: Did you realize there was an investigation into Christian B., about murder, and it had to do with some Russians in Spain?

MS: Yes, I was asked about two Russian brothers in Spain.

Man asks MS: Did they talk about human trafficking at the time or not?

MS: No, no one told me about that.

Pictures of Casinos in Vilamoura are shown.

Banner: "Julia" Nicole Fehlinger's Former Employer and Assault Victim

Disguised couple: I'm talking about Vilamoura. She even mentioned that she worked, occasionally being invited to perform at the casino. And she showed us a picture where she appeared with open arms with a red tunic and lots of feathers, feathers, in her hair. Carnival outfit. Party clothes, party clothes. She was dancing. (They talk about photo shoots) That's what she said, that it was photoshoot work. Yacht buyers also had parties at the casino. She said a group of people she knew arrived. In this group were several Russians.

Banner: Thomas Milde
foster son of Nicole Fehlinger

(Covers some same ground as Part 1)

SF: And what about Jessica? She was five.

TM: She was at home with Matthias.

TM: I'd thought it's a dream but something goes wrong in the paradise.

SF: What went wrong?

TM: Nicole.

SF: Tell me about Nicole.

TM: Nicole is the name of my foster mom. She was not a foster, she was nothing. I thought she is, but she was the same like my mom she said, I'm not interested on you.

SF: But she was getting money from the Germany state to take care of you, wasn't she?

TM: Yeah, that's why she take care of me (laughs).

SF: Only to get money?

TM: I think so. I think so.

I was there for 4 weeks or 5 weeks and we went to the beach in Sao Rafael and we made a time to met to go back after. And I was late 4 or 5 minutes maybe 10 minutes and she was waiting in the car for me and is like, "You are too late, say goodbye", and left me there. For the moment I thought she would come back but she won't come back (laughs).

SF: She didn't?

TM: No she didn't and some kind of hopeless in another country without a language with my swimming shorts and nothing else. I don't know what to do and then I walk on the freeway 4 hours, 5 hours, 'til the police stops me and catch me because you can't walk on the freeway. But it was the only way to come home. She (NF) said take him.

SF: She said that?

TM: Yeah, she said take him. Then my foster dad Matthias came and take me with the, the, there was a paper called (?) in Portuguese for my ...

SF: Responsibility?

TM: Yeah for my, for my living where that, that, my, my I.D. for them.

SF: Did she have any work beside being your foster mom?

TM: No, just uh being my foster mom.

SF: Did you ever complain of her to the institution that ruled the project?

(Shows picture of Casa Triangulo.)

TM: I tried to speak with the supervisor a lot of times but the only reaction was that I was a criminal and stupid guy again and I have to shut up. And my example for going back was jail so I had to stay there so or so. I have to do it.

SF: What did you think when you saw Nicole Fehlinger associated to Christian Bruckner on T.V.?

TM: I was shocked.

SF: You've never met him.

TM: I never met him. I tried to talk to her and she had blocked me on Facebook.

SF: Do you think that she would be capable of making robberies in order to have a better life?

TM: It is possible that um she'd do it at this time 'cause she was everyday buying some stuff, some toys, some everything.. and um..

SF: She lived in a rich way.

TM: And where comes the money? From where comes the money? She has spent around 5 or 6 thousand Euros a month.

SF states Julia Isabel and the screen shows a picture stating 100 mil Euros at the top with Nicole Fehlinger's name and picture with 64 mil Euros and Christian Bruckner's name and picture with 36 mil Euros.

SF: Are you fully convinced that Nicole Fehlinger orchestrated your heist?

Disguised Couple: Of course... we don't have the slightest doubt. Yes, yes... it was her, for sure!

The quick call she took when we were in the car on the way to her house for her birthday party, the person who spoke to her was German, of course, and she answered in German. And she replied more than once "naturlich, naturlich." When answering that word the idea that someone was asking him something.

She said "Of course, no problem, naturally." And now, in hindsight, he would surely be asking if it was a good time to go straight home and do the work.

(It shows a picture of the OC and a document)

The highlighted parts say:
"For this altered picture, Kate found that the twins were in their respective beds, unlike Madeleine who had disappeared."

"It didn't detect that any object had disappeared."
- PJ

"I was not naked inside the dwelling, envelopes with the 100,000.00 Euros had been stolen, Ms. Nicole's behavior on the day of the facts was always suspicious,"

Disguised couple: He stole the house, but she's the one who moved everything so quickly. That's what is incredible. From the idea that she had practiced these things. It wasn't until the very day we went to Vilamoura that she found out that we were going to make a transaction. I didn't know what. We had to go to a lawyer's office, that's it.

SF: And was it 48 hours before the robbery?

Disguised couple: Well, it was, exactly.

SF: Did you know that she was suspect on other burglary?

HCW: It may be the case, but it matters little to us. We know that he committed crimes and thefts in Portugal, and perhaps more than those for which he was condemned. But for us this information did not advance the case.

SF: So far Nicole Fehlinger is not a suspect for you?

HCW: No, if we're investigating Christian Bruckner, no one else.

Document shown: Witness Inquiry Report
Identity of Witness Nicole Fehlinger

Criminal Investigation Center

"During the return trip to his residence he received a call from a German friend of his by the name of... Christian Buckner, through the number 915078040,"

"which is currently in Germany"

Disguised couple: When in the car call was over she turned to us and said: "I got a call from Germany." And I told the police the same. Now, of course, it was a lie because the thief came to my house that day. It wasn't from Germany.

Highlighted document:
"Does not know who may have been responsible for the theft."
- NF signature

Another document:
Albufeira District Court
conc. - 2007-12-20
I declare the inquiry closed,

Another highlighted part:
Nicole's conduct described above raises suspicions that need to be investigated.

- Nicole always behaved suspiciously that day, so she could have been involved in the theft, although she didn't do it directly.

The facts reported are likely to be part of the crime of aggravated theft.

The complainant's neighbor was inquired (Name redacted),

at 1:15 pm,

noticed that an individual whose characteristics she described was hovering in the vicinity of the plaintiff's house,

there are no elements that make it possible to consider even a well-founded suspicion of Nicole Fehlinger's involvement in the theft of the money.

Disgusied couple: She came with her daughter to my house that night to see how and what we were doing. When I got home and saw the house robbed I called her right away. And she said: "Ah, mas quie horro, during the party someone entered your house. "This is terrible. I'm too busy with the party now, "the party isn't over yet, but I'll stop by later."
And so it was. During the period she was in my house, she manifested an extraordinary coldness, even when talking to the police. Later, when the complaint was passed to Albufeira, the Albufeira police also told us straight away that she was a very cold woman who denied everything, that she was not involved in anything. And upon hearing her, everyone would believe her talk.

SF: For your investigation it's not important to reconstruct everything that has happened back in 2007?

HCW: First of all, what interests us is May 3, 2007. What happened? And shortly after that. When the facts took place. We are also interested in what happened before and after, and whether he could have spoken to anyone. You could have hidden objects somewhere and someone could have seen something, such as witnesses and the rape video. We are also interested in the previous moment. Who had contact with him, who saw him, when and where? Because then we can ask if there are more places where searching is justified.

SF: Does Christian Bruckner have any alibi for the 3 of May 2007, at the evening between 7:30 and 10 pm?

FF: I can't say anything about that.

SF: But was he with someone... Do you believe that somehow if this case goes to court, you'll be able to present someone that could say he or she was with him at that night?

FF: We are analyzing several elements, but for now I can't make any concrete statements.

SF: But when you ask him he assumes he was in Algarve on the 3rd of May 2007?

FF: I can't say anything about that either. I can't tell you where he was at the time.

SF: If at this moment, you would find out that your client is lying to you, would you keep defending him?

FF: It wouldn't be the first time a client has lied to a lawyer. If that happens, it's not especially smart. But even understandable from a human point of view. At that point I would have to have a very serious conversation with him. But if every time a client lied to me I stopped representing him, I wouldn't have anything to eat. I would probably continue to defend him.

End of program.

Writing about the 'alibi'and the subsequent arrest at Faro airport:

When Brueckner dropped her off at Faro airport for a flight to Cologne, Germany, on May 9, the woman, who MailOnline is not naming, was arrested by police as she passed through security for a flight carrying pepper spray.

Brueckner returned to the airport and acted as translator explaining the pepper spray was legal in German
y.

this would mean that this girl had his mobile phone number to reach him that quick... and it appears this number has been corroborated by the BKA... if indeed it's the same number, then MWT's claim that only one person has said this number belonged to CB is just show. Not that I believed him but just saying the BKA would by now know every single documented movement of CB the days after the disappearance...

Mobile number listed but redacted on the incident report published in the article.
It would be interesting to know if it was blurred by Pisa or redacted by authorities before sharing the report with him, as I’d assume it was.

BKA are certainly aware of it, as you say.
