The latest rubbish was after Christmas just gone so by default the article meant Christmas 2023.

In September 2022 Fulscher tried to have the cases moved to the Magdeburg judicial authority.
As charges have since been laid by Braunschweig I presume Fulscher's delaying tactics were unsuccessful.
No objections regarding the Braunschweig court's competence to handle the 2019 rape case based on last abode of the accused were ever raised and that one went all the way to ECJ.

Interesting. The article suggests the matter is still under consideration?

Das Landgericht Braunschweig verweist auf die laufende Prüfung und nimmt keine Stellung. Nach BILD-Informationen aus Justizkreisen aber ist das Landgericht tendenziell bereit, der Argumentation des Verteidigers zu folgen.

Likely to buy himself more time to get away as the victim I’m sure would stay like that for a while in fear, being unsure if he was still there
