    Breaking news

Malaysia Airlines says it has lost contact with a plane travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, with 239 people on board.

The airline said in a statement that flight MH370 disappeared at 02:40 local time on Saturday (18:40 GMT on Friday).

I'm praying the plane is found and people on the plane survive.

"If that piece of the plane is that big, maybe it's the tail section" David Gallo, who co-led the search for Air France Flight 447 which crashed in 2009 in the Indian Ocean and remained out of sight for two years. The tail height of a Boeing 777 is 60 feet."

Press sitting in the front row at the press conference have all been cleared out to make room for "senior officials"

A Plea For the "Witch Doctors".

There's no argument against the fact it was bad PR for the Malaysian government to invite some shamans to the Kuala Lumpur airport to perform spiritual rites for MH-370 in front of journalists.

But it's good to remember that many countries have large parts of their populations that practice traditional folk religions. The heads of the folk religions are spiritual leaders and figures of community bonding and healing.

In times of tragedy, ceremonies by shamans are just as comforting for their believers as the spiritual support of priests or ministers are to those of other faiths.

When I checked it appeared to just be an interview with Dick Smith.

Presser sounds exactly like our one done hours ago. Nothing new.

Well sky news isn't telling me anything new except I am pleased to hear that they are beefing up on helping the families by bringing more officials in to talk to them -- that's pretty much all they can do.

Here's hoping they find something substantive......tomorrow at least

I think they probably know for certain. Australia is funny like that, we don't usually have daily press conferences, or get drip fed information. Stuff is usually announced once all the facts are known. I'm surprised we got a press conference just for "could possibly be related".
