The explosions occurred about 11 p.m. ET at the Lake County plant of Blue Rhino, NBC station WESH of Orlando reported. "Multiple" people suffered unspecified injuries and that residents were being evacuated for a mile around the site in what authorities called a "mass casualty scene," it reported.

The news reports are all over the board on what has happened and how many injured etc...It's better to wait for solid information right now.

So it looks like the town was not affected? Not to minimize the pain and tragedy of what happened but after West Texas and what happened in Canada I am a little jumpy.

Late-night explosions rock Lake County


As of 11:15 a.m., authorities said one of the large 30,000 pound propane tanks is leaking due to minor damage sustained when one of the small tanks struck it.

Crews are putting water on the tank and have not ordered any evacuations, but have shut down County Road 448 in front of the plant as a precaution.

9 Investigates safety record of Blue Rhino propane facility

The plant, which opened in 2004, has been inspected every year by the state. WFTV obtained the most recent inspection, conducted just 11 days ago, and the state says there were no violations.
