Two toddlers have been found dead in a home in Cheverly, Prince Georges County, Maryland.

'Cheverly police and Prince George’s County police are investigating the homicides of two toddlers that occurred around 2 a.m. Sunday.'

No further details have been released but forensic teams are at the home, taking out evidence bags.

Sonya Spoon, 24, of Cheverly, is being held without bond, charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault in the deaths of a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old, police said.

According to a police news release, Spoon was taken into custody on the scene and "she did admit to suffocating her children inside the home." The official cause of the toddlers' deaths is pending and the motive is under investigation, the news release said...

"Wonderful couple, they were always really polite," said an unidentified neighbor. "It's a shame that happened. I don't know what happened but it's always been really quiet."

Prince George's County police also revealed Monday that Cheverly police officers had escorted Sonya Spoon to a medical facility for a psychiatric evaluation about a week ago.

On the news cast not only did they mention the above but they said Sonya woke her Mom up around 2am and told her she killed her 2 children. The Mom (babies gma) ripped the bags and tape off the babies heads and performed CPR on them while awaiting the arrival of 911.

How very sad. And she was evaluated a week ago. Again the mental health help is non existent. This could have been prevented, IMO.
I have a friend whose adult son is suicidal, was taken to a hospital on a 72 hour hold and they released him before 72 hours. He is not better, and told his mom he knows how to talk his way out. She is a mess. I don't know how to help her, or him. It's terrifying.

Over the past year, Thompson was involved in a custody battle with Spoon. Thompson tells WTOP, she would periodically cut off all contact with him.
He went to court, hoping to obtain specific guidelines for visiting his daughter, according to Thompson.
Court records from June show Spoon was granted primary custody.
