A number of possibilities exist as to the location of Kimberly Mileo.

- She might have driven her car nine miles south, exited it and walked into a swampy area with only one sandal on her foot, shorts and a tank top to "commit suicide" as suggested by Dana Hudson, never to be found by searchers.

- She might have died on the Hudson property and her body transported elsewhere by Dana and/or his brothers to be buried, and her car ditched nearby - or some distance from her grave.

- She may have died or been killed and buried on the Hudson property, and her car driven nine miles south on the Croom road in an effort to mislead investigators away from the Hudson farm. Dana's sudden departure and later statements that he went to Ocean City, Maryland "to look for Kim" might also be a distraction away from the Hudson property. Overhead satellite views show a number of new buildings having been erected. Could one of them conceal her grave?

Richard, thank you for all you've done and are doing to keep this thread alive and hopefully cause this person to sleep a little less soundly at night. I believe that you are correct, and that the trip to Ocean City was a red herring, a distraction. The idea that she would have committed suicide has always been far-fetched and unlikely. The key that will lead investigators to the location of the body is a thorough search of the property and all buildings... if they don't find any remains on the premises they might find evidence she was killed there via microscopic blood droplets in a basement or some other unusual materials that could be lab-tested. Unfortunately, their legal representation has seriously hindered the investigation into who else could have been involved in Kim's disappearance. Since these seem like highly litigious people I am reluctant to use the name of the individual(s) we all suspect.

This case and the case of Karen Kamsch (another young girl from Maryland) really upset me, because they are both totally solvable, in that the people who know what happened (and are quite likely culpable) are all alive and well, yet not being brought to justice. I mean, it's all well and good that we live in a country with probable cause and the option to employ legal counsel and protection, but sometimes it only enables the wealthy and privileged to avoid being held accountable for their crimes.

Kim's car was a gray 1972 Chevrolet Vega with Maryland tags ADG-075. It was found abandoned near 16301 Croom Road on Saturday, 11 June (2 days after she went missing) by Dana Hudson's brother Greg and/or a friend. It's location was 9 miles south of the intersection of Croom Road and Mount Calvert Road - in the opposite direction that Kim would have taken to drive home.

Details of Disappearance

Mileo spent the day of June 8, 1983 with her boyfriend, Dana Hudson, and another friend's family in Croom, Maryland. Her friend stated that Mileo and Dana argued periodically during the day, but the disagreements were not serious. Mileo and Hudson departed from her friend's residence at approximately 11:00 p.m. and headed to his parents' home on Mount Calvert Road.

Mileo's family became concerned when she did not return to their house in Kettering, Maryland the following morning. Her father phoned Dana, who claimed that Mileo left his residence at approximately 2:30 a.m. on June 9. Dana's father, Donald G. Hudson, supported his son's statement, saying that the broken muffler on Mileo's gray 1972 Chevrolet Vega with the Maryland license plate number ADG-075 woke him around that time. Mileo has never been heard from again.

Mileo's vehicle was discovered locked and abandoned in the 16300 block of Croom Road on June 11, approximately ten miles from the Hudsons' house. Dana's brother and his friend located the car. The vehicle was headed in the opposite direction from Mileo's family's residence. Authorities were curious as to why the Vega was discovered two days after her initial disappearance.

Another friend of Dana claimed he saw the vehicle in the same area it was abandoned at approximately 3:15 a.m. on June 9, the morning Mileo vanished. There were no indications of a struggle near the car, which was locked and in working condition. Mileo's purse and one of her sandals were inside it. On the vehicle's dashboard was a single rose which Dana have given her.

Dana failed a polygraph exam shortly after she was reported missing. He and his family members hired an attorney and refused to cooperate with authorities afterwards. Her boyfriend maintains his innocence in Mileo's case and stated that she had "seemed suicidal" the last time he saw her.

Donald sued the police for $600,000, accusing them of harassing him in the investigation. The suit was dismissed and he was ordered to pay $1,703 in attorney's fees and court costs. A police officer who had been named as a defendant in Donald's suit countersued him for $6 million, but that suit was dropped before trial.

Mileo left all her clothing and personal belongings behind when she vanished. She has also not accessed her bank accounts since 1983. There have been no arrests connected to her disappearance; it remains unsolved. Investigators view Mileo's case as a possible homicide.
