Radee Prince, the man accused of going on a shooting spree that crossed from Maryland into Delaware, has been convicted by a Delaware jury — but it’s unclear when he will stand trial in Maryland.

Prince was charged with attempted murder in Baul’s shooting, but the jury chose to convict him on the lesser charge of attempted manslaughter. A conviction on the attempted-murder charge could have carried a sentence of life in prison.

He admitted to the Delaware shooting while on the witness stand earlier this week and faces between eight and 89 years in prison.

Prince is scheduled to be sentenced in Delaware on Aug. 31, but the Judge said he doesn’t want to wait until late summer to start trial proceedings in Maryland.

Prince’s Maryland trial has not yet been scheduled.

Officials: Two years before Radee Prince was charged in fatal Harford shooting, other charges were not pursued in Cecil

    September 28, 2018

"ELKTON — Cecil County officials are pointing fingers over the 2015 dismissal of charges against Radee Prince, the man who — two years later — was charged in a fatal workplace shooting in Harford County.

Authorities say Prince shot five co-workers at a Edgewood granite company in 2017, killing three. A trial is pending in that case, but he's been sentenced to 40 years in prison for shooting a man in Delaware the same day.

The Cecil County Sheriff's Office says it was prepared for a 2015 trial on weapons and traffic charges that Prince faced after a March 2015 traffic stop, but the state's attorney's office dropped them, according to a report in the The News Journal of Wilmington, Del...."

Doctor finds Prince competent to stand trial in Advanced Granite Solutions shootings

    January 28, 2019

"In an apparent reversal, a doctor found Radee Prince, the man accused of killing three people and injuring two others at Advanced Granite Solutions in Edgewood in October 2017, competent to stand trial in the case.

Prince, 39, of Elkton, was in court briefly Monday in Harford County Circuit Court for motions hearings.

The first matter to be addressed in the case against Prince — he’s charged with three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, use of a felony in a violent crime and illegal possession of a regulated firearm — was whether he’s mentally competent to stand trial, Judge Yolanda Curtin said during the hearing.

Public defender John Janowich, who is representing Prince, told Curtin that last week the doctor performing the competency evaluation said she intended to find Prince not competent, but on Friday evening he received an email that she was finding him competent....

Curtin said the court asked the doctor for a copy of her formal report by the end of the day Monday so both sides would have time to review it before continuing the motions hearing. If she could not produce the report, Curtin said, she would call her to testify Tuesday “to get something on the record.”...

Another motion was filed for a change of venue, according to court records, which also indicate state prosecutors are seeking a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. Feb. 25 and the two-week trial is set to begin Feb. 27...."

More Evaluation Needed For Workplace Shooting Suspect Radee Prince, Judge Says

    January 29, 2019

"BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Radee Prince will need to undergo more mental health evaluations, according to a judge.

The judge in the case said Tuesday that she could not rule that Prince was competent to stand trial beyond a reasonable doubt.

She ordered that Prince undergo new mental health evaluations, placing his trial on hold.

Prince was set to go on trial in Harford County next month on murder charges. It will now be determined at a later date when his trial will begin...."

Trial of suspect in Harford County workplace killings postponed until September

    Feb 26, 2019

"The trial of Radee Prince, the man accused of killing three at an Edgewood workplace in October 2017, has been postponed until September, according to court records.

Prince, 39, of Elkton, had been ordered in January to undergo further psychological evaluations to determine if he is competent to stand trial. That delayed the start of his trial on three counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, use of a felony in a violent crime and illegal possession of a regulated firearm in Harford County Circuit Court.

The trial, before Judge Yolanda Curtin, had been scheduled to start today.

According to a filing in court Monday, a motions hearing is scheduled for April 29.

A pre-trial conference is set for Sept. 3 with the 14-day trial set to start the next day. Jury selection is estimated to take two days, with testimony to begin Sept. 9....

The defense has also filed a motion for a change of venue in the case, arguing that “the impending trial and the events surrounding this incident have been the subject of numerous inflammatory and prejudicial reports in print, television, radio and Internet and social media.”..."

Harford judge deems alleged gunman in 2017 Advanced Granite shooting competent to stand trial

    April 29, 2019

"Lawyers for an Elkton man suspected of shooting five people and killing three at an Edgewood business park in 2017 said they will pursue a “not criminally responsible” determination if their client is found guilty after a Harford County judge deemed him competent to stand trial Monday.

The trial for Radee Labeeb Prince will also take place in Harford County, after Circuit Court Judge Yolanda L. Curtin denied a defense motion for a change of venue. Prince’s 14-day trial is set to begin in September...."

Trial of alleged shooter in Advanced Granite Solutions killings postponed

    AUG 06, 2019

"....Radee Prince, 39, had been scheduled to go to trial Sept. 9 in Harford County Circuit Court, but a defense request for a postponement was granted July 26.

“It was a defense request for a postponement for further preparation,” said Deputy Public Defender John Janowich, who is representing Prince. “It’s such a complex case, we need more time to review records, consult with doctors and whatnot.”

A new date has not been scheduled, but Janowich expects it will be later this year or early next year.

Another competency evaluation was requested for Prince, because of concerns of the defense, Janowich said....

If Prince is convicted, his lawyers said they will pursue a not criminally responsible determination."
