The family should contact Texas Equusearch if they believe she might still be in the area of the cabin (i.e.: deceased in the woods). Tim Miller has extensive experience with water searches and I believe his group would know the best way to search any swampy areas too. They won't do a search without LE's consent but they usually do try to help if the family requests a search and LE okays it (they are not only for cases in Texas, they go everywhere).

How to request their help: Report a Person Missing
Thank you. I shared this information with the family.

WDIV will have report on Adrienne during 11:00 news. I will stay up to watch but will be going to bed as soon as it's over.

ETA: Well, that was quick! Brief report about the reward being increased to $100K until November 30.

Good night.

Yeah I know, no blood is puzzling if there really was a shoot out. I guess it’s possible the guy she shot in the face was inside a car so no blood outside. Or possible there was a shoot out, but she didn’t actually shoot anyone like she thought (her reflection). Or no one else was there and she was the only one shooting. The testing of the shell casings outside and the bullet found in the ceiling might tell us something.
Seems like ballistics testing should be completed by now -- 5 weeks is a long time.

A bevy of new tips — from local and downstate sources — have flooded in since the news broke. Several of those “seem pretty promising,” [Benzie County Sheriff Ted] Schendel said.

Investigators hoped to continue a search of the woods with cadaver dogs on Saturday, but weather and scheduling issues likely will delay that for another week or two yet, a Sheriff’s Department official said Friday afternoon.

Early searches via dog and drone turned up little, the Associated Press reported last month.

“We’re investigating until everything dries up or leads to a dead end,” Schendel said. “But we’re not at that point yet.”

A little on the callous side?
Perhaps with that cold front coming across (rain/snow) and the weather forecast- plus Thanksgiving next Thursday- maybe availability is an issue. But it needed to be worded differently!
Should have already been pushing for this before weather gets worse!
Should they call in another search and rescue team? Where could Ada be?

.... but weather and scheduling issues likely will delay that for another week or two yet..

Absolutely...and more than a little bit.

Scheduling issues?
The search dogs are on holiday? Or their handlers are?
The dogs are out on another case?

Or the Benzie SD is out of their league on this one?

A woman's life may be at stake here.

This, by outward appearance, is still a missing/endangered case!
Poorly stated, at best. Unless they have an idea that she was truly abducted or killed and moved, this seems like they should be seeking outside help. Michigan State Police shouldn't be so shorthanded that a cadaver dog couldn't be sorted. Initial K9 search area seemed pretty small, from the Sharpie map.

Weather isn't that bad, and a little rain would help melt some snow.

Callous, indeed. The Sheriff has admitted that he's never seen a case like this in 39 years - a "stumper". Maybe he needs to swallow his pride and ask for assistance from MSP or other LE agencies around the state who are more capable of pursuing complicated cases. Ada's family needs answers sooner rather than later!

"A bevy of new tips... have flooded in". Wonder if this is new. Seems like before he said they had a dozen or so and most led to nothing.

There were several distinctive blue MSP vehicles in the videos. So were the MSP just there for forensics or what?

The dog quote is ridiculous on all levels. Makes him look a proper fool.

That sounds right. MSP Crime Lab would review forensics from "crime scene": Ballistics, blood/DNA, tread marks, etc.

Also, "seem pretty promising" sounds much different from the past press where it seemed like they are just confused.

This leads me away from mental break theories.
