Found Deceased MI - Andrew 'Andy' Bray, 75, Norway, 1 Jan 2017

Andrew (Andy) Bray, 75, of Norway has been missing since Sunday. According to a family member, he is in poor health.

Bray is 5’10” tall, weighs 190 lbs. and has white hair. He was last seen Sunday at a relatives house on Curry Road in Norway wearing a navy blue winter jacket and brown boots.

Bray drives a beige/tan colored Ford Taurus with a St. Norbert’s parking sticker in the back window and a University of Wisconsin Badgers license plate on the front of the vehicle. The Ford Taurus is registered here in Michigan.

Found this when doing a Google search....perhaps the same man?

He was likely released in early 2015.

Also an obituary for someone with the same first and last name as well as middle initial and also from Norway, MI who died in 2006. Perhaps a relative he was named after? Norway is a small community of around 3,000 people.

Typically it's very cold in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan. There's been a bit of a heat wave (temps in the 30's the last couple of days) but dropping again tomorrow night with temps over the next week in the teens and single digits during the day and below zero at night. I hope he is found before the colder temps hit.

I wonder if he is a gambler? Many casinos in the UP. Island Resort Casino about 30 miles from Norway. I wonder if they have checked the casinos and/or hotels around the casino?

Just saw an update (posted today) on Facebook from a cousin (paraphrasing): He is still missing. They think he was home Friday night and left sometime Saturday morning so they are not sure exactly what he is wearing. They are not limiting their search to Dickinson County. They are still working to get a plate number for the car.

I wonder what the "Major Health Issues" are. If he needs his daily meds, and doesn't have them with him, he could already be in a lot of trouble now. Could be a blessing in disguise though if he gets himself to a hospital because he feels ill.

There was a basketball game at MTU on Saturday. It does not appear that any games were scheduled for Northern. Most other local schools were probably on break until after New Year's Day.

Also FB rumor/chatter: There is a possibility he may have traveled "downstate" (Lower Michigan).

Bray’s car is described as a 2006 beige Ford Taurus with a St. Norbert parking sticker on the back window. A Wisconsin license plate is on the front of the vehicle and a Michigan plate, registration number DNL8253, is on the back.

Family members say that a vehicle matching the description of Bray’s may have been spotted around the Mackinac Bridge, but were unable to confirm if it was him.

FB post by a his niece indicates that the family was checking his bank account(s) today in hopes of getting some direction. I hope they find something to help locate him.

Update Car located, Andy still missing.

a snowplow driver discovered a car near the Menominee River in Niagara, Wisconsin.

Footprints led to the riverbank. The car's registration came back to Bray.

A search of the river was done but further searches are on hold at this time because of the weather.

He did not drive far. Maybe his car got stuck in the snow and he tried to follow the river to get home/find a road?

UPDATE: Search suspended indefinitely for missing man

According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, the search for Bray has been called off indefinitely due to weather and water conditions. Sauve says the sheriff’s office will resume looking for Bray if new information presents itself.
