ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. — Deputies with the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing 23-year-old woman last seen on Nov. 30.

Brittany Nichole Shank was last seen near the 33000 block of Fawn River Road on Nov. 30 at approximately 9:40 p.m. She was last seen with a white male, approximately mid-20s in age and 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 in height with short blonde hair and muttonchop-style sideburns.

Shank is being described as a white female, approximately 5-foot-1 and 110-pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anybody with information on Shank's whereabouts is being asked to contact the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office at (269) 467-9045 or Central Dispatch at (269) 467-4195.

Mother determined to find missing daughter, says “we just want her home safely”

[JR] began searching for daughter, a mother of four, on December 7 when she learned that she had been missing for a week. Brittany’s paternal grandmother was the last person to see her, which was on November 30.

“She went to her grandmother’s. She did laundry,”[JR] said. “She was with another gentleman. We don’t know who it was. The grandma described him as blonde hair, short, stocky and he had sideburns.”

[JR] gave this information to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office and began her own investigation. She learned from Michigan State Police that an accident had happened on Fawn River Road, where authorities found Brittany’s boyfriend’s car on the side of the road. [JR] checked the site out herself.

“It looks like the car could’ve been moved or backed up,” [JR] said. “But it looks like maybe there was some kind of struggle or she [was] running from something or somebody.”

St. Joseph mother not giving up hope, continues search for missing daughter

She went off the road down Fawn River after she did laundry at grandmother’s house one night, and she went around a curb and the car went off the road. Nobody has seen her since,” says Rolfe.
Right after the accident, residents living along Fawn River Road say they saw Shank asking for help.

“She went to a couple houses and knocked on the doors. [She] knocked on one door, was seen at the window at another house, that’s the last time anybody has seen her,” said Rolfe.

Rolfe tells FOX 17 one resident tried to help, but couldn’t get cell service to call 9-1-1, and said Shank disappeared before they could try again.

Friends of Shank also have given statements about a blue Crown Victoria car and a questionable boyfriend.

Hello! I checked this out and you are referencing a different woman. The woman's record you found is a woman with the same name who is 28 years old and lives in PA. Totally different person.

Thank you for calling this out. I ran it again and the database is only supposed to query her state of residence but pulled up someone by the exact same name in PA. I wish they'd give a date of birth on these missing person reports.

They are still looking for Brittany and they even have the police helping now.
