GUILTY MI - Detroit, Male UP12576, 20-40, dismembered, May'14 - Sheldon Prawl

A lot of Deisha's family is in or has visited Jamaica. Also I didn't find a birth record for Deisha, so either she was born in a state that doesn't publish birth records or possibly born in Jamaica.

I did find an address listing in Brooklyn for Jan. 2009 so maybe she left the country.

Some of the family lives in the UK also.

I beginning to think either Ms. Dodd's first name isn't Deisha but she uses Deisha almost exclusively, she's left the country or she's incarcerated.

IMO

I found this while scrolling through the Black and Missing facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/blackandmissing

I can't verify the dates. I also see her husband's family has connections to OH and PA just a short distance away from MI.

Maybe you super sleuthers out there can find more.

I think this might be it (I realize this is the third time I've said this!). Some of her husband's family lives in Michigan.

a site called Ancient Faces says Deisha T. Conerly married Christopher Johnson in 2003 in Dallas: http://www.ancientfaces.com/person/deisha-t-conerly-johnson/94492246

and married Marcellus K. Tartt on October 09, 2007 in Tarrant County, Texas. http://www.ancientfaces.com/person/deisha-t-conerly-tartt/96085206. Found the marriage record listed here: http://www.genlookups.com/txmar/2007/txmar07-t1.htm

She seems to have graduated from Carter High School in 2000 and is on Classmates. I'm not a member so I can't see what she posted there but it looks like it's more recent than 2009.

Already checked that one out, her bday is 2-5-81

I should have thought of checking this aspect sooner -- but nobody named Deisha in Doenet, Charley, or Namus missing persons. I did not restrict by sex and I checked both first and last names.

That doesn't preclude the possibility Deisha is a nickname, of course, and the number of names it can be a nickname for is pretty high.

After Detroit Police released a picture of a tattoo found on the dismembered victim, he was identified as 23-year-old Sheldon Prawl who had been reported missing out of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Prawl's mother, Beverley Daley who lives in New York, tells Action News that her son had been living in North Carolina for about a year before his disappearance on October 30, 2013.

Prawl had an argument with his girlfriend and hasn't been seen since, according to Daley who says her son does not know anyone in Detroit and would not have had any reason to come to Michigan.

Condolences to his family, and I'll eat my hat as I really was wrong. I wish that details of his tattoo had been listed in his missing persons information, there are a few articles around about him from November 2013. I hope his family now have some closure, and that police figure out how this all happened.

“The work of our forensic anthropologist in recovering his remains from the cement, and subsequent identification of the distinctive tattoo on his forearm was instrumental in his identification,” Mary Mazur, spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office, said in an e-mail.

A torso and head were found in one crate, and legs, arms and feet were found in another, Mazur had previously said. No bullet holes were found on the body, and Mazur didn’t indicate cause or manner of death.

Detroit police said the Jacksonville Police Department is handling the criminal investigation because the person went missing from its jurisdiction."

Thankful to see another family has their loved one back; hoping they find who killed him so that he can rest in peace.

Did anyone find if he was listed in NamUs? I saw a few articles about him missing; that's it. :(

Body parts found in Detroit from man reported missing in N.C.

Tony Briscoe/The Detroit News

Detroit — The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a dismembered body encased in concrete as a North Carolina man who went missing on Halloween.

Investigators identified the remains as Sheldon Prawl, 23, who was reported missing in Jacksonville, N.C., on Oct. 31, according to Mary Mazur, spokeswoman for the medical examiner’s office...

Oddly, none of the articles that I came across when Sheldon was missing, indicated that he had a tattoo.
If they had, I am sure he would have been identified a lot sooner imo.
Wonder how he ended up in Detroit?
It is very sad that someone so young would end up in such a horrible way, it must be devastating for his family, especially as the sister, " Deisha" also apparently died young.

WHOOOO HOOO!!!! He was ID'ed!!!!!! What great news! RIP Sheldon

This whole story is nuts - they're trying to link Justice and possibly Ervin (the property) owner to Prawl's death but they don't think he's a suspect... either he is or isn't. IDK why that one news article tried to tie all that in. Though, it is weird this guy was found on an occupied property. You can't tell me the homeowner didn't know about it..

Wasn't he in jail?
