Missing in Michigan | On December 23, 1976, 20 year old Harold Covey, was seen leaving Karens Cabins, in Oscoda, MI, getting into a dark blue Chevy truck

I grew up 15 minutes from Oscoda, and while I'm not familiar with this case, I am familiar with this area. Karen's Cabins doesn't appear to be operational anymore, but I'll see if I can get a better idea of where exactly it was. Even still, just outside of Oscoda is a vast national forest of 438, 584 acres. It is hunted pretty frequently, so there is a fair amount of foot traffic running through it. However, many of the trails that would have been able to be traveled during the time of him going missing, are now gated or blocked off.

I'm new, so I'm unsure if this goes against the rules, but if we're allowed to submit FOIA requests and share that information here, I would be willing to do so?

Maybe the admins can help you with the request. You can ask @CarlK90245

Just received the largest packet I've ever seen in regard to a FOIA request. The first image below is the initial missing person report, and the second image is how many records I have to go through. I'm unsure when I'll get around to uploading all of the images, but will do so at some point.

I came to check out this thread after reading your post in the Patricia & Pam thread, also missing from Oscoda. Great that you got these documents! I noticed the first document mentions that his girlfriend had an ID for the military base. Was she active duty military? Wonder why he was carrying her ID? Was he using it to get on the base?

Elizabeth Goldstick was the wife of David Goldstick, the person who last saw Harold and also the person who claimed he got into a dark blue chevy. Elizabeth and David had split up and in early December Elizabeth had moved in with Harold. David was an active member of the Air Force and was stationed at WASB, which is why Elizabeth would have had an ID for the base. The report claims that David came and picked up Elizabeth and took her back to his residence on the base to watch their children. He claims he was having a squadron party that day and that he returned to the cabin to collect a few board games. Upon his arrival Harold was on the phone and made David wait until he was done with the call before allowing him in to collect the games. This is the last time that Harold was seen.

Here are 4 more images from the reports.

Well, at first glance, the soon to be ex husband of Harold’s girlfriend doesn’t look like a good guy. Every time she left the husband, bad things happened.

If this is the same person, it looks like he ended up in prison for killing someone

He was, but has since been released.

Saw that. I wonder if anyone in LE has talked to him to see if he will reveal Harold Covey's location?

Some info about the murder he committed. He served in the AF for 20 yrs. Killed the assistant treasurer of the Charlevoix VFW chapter because Goldstick was the treasurer and was caught stealing money. He was originally sentenced to life without parole.

He claims to have not been involved in his disappearance.

He was questioned again on either April 27th, or 28th of 2011. Yet again he claimed that he did not murder Covey, and had no involvement in his disappearance. His story did change, though, the detectives are unsure if it was intentionally, or unintentionally. In his new recollection of events, he claims to have never known where Karen's Cabins was, as he thought Elizabeth was afraid of what he may do. He agreed to take a polygraph again, but his doctor did not clear him for the test.

I definitely think Goldstick had something to do with this someone needs to speak looks like there is enough evidence to arrest him with just the records right here, you don’t need a body anymore
