Circumstances: Tran was originally from Goshen, Indiana. His sister notified the Elkhart County, Indiana Sheriff's Dept. that her brother had left for Kalamazoo, MI to visit a friend and hadn't been heard from since. His vehicle was later recovered being driven by this friend, in Allegan County, Michigan. Foul play is suspected.

The NamUs link is down, so I'm not sure this is the same person, but the address and circumstances seem to indicate that it is.

Sheriff announces identity of Delhi Twp. homicide victim

The homicide victim found in Delhi Township has been identified as Phuong Thanh Tran, Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth said at a press conference Dec. 13.

Ingham County sheriff ’s deputies found Tran’s body Dec. 7 when they went to 2485 Houghton Hollow Dr. in response to a check welfare complaint from Tran’s employer, Toyota Motor Corporation. The body had been decapitated.

I think that's different person. Phuong Thanh Tran was identified as the victim. He still has a Namus page:
