I've just watched all of the current trial videos. What I get from this is that Ariel was obsessed with SP. She would do anything to get his attention, including pretending to go for an abortion/have her baby adopted. He clearly led her quite a dance by ignoring her messages and phone calls which made her even more determined to make him speak to her. I believe she wanted him to fall in love with the baby but ultimately I dont think she ever intended on having her adopted. She may have envisioned a lovely family life for them all but SP doesn't appear to have wanted that. Did he truly believe Kate wasn't his baby? Or did he resent having to potentially pay child support for her? It seems like his motive was stopping Ariel and the baby having their DNA tests done that day. And he succeeded when he drove away with baby Kate in the car. (my own opinion of course).

LUDINGTON, Mich. (WOOD) — Testimony continues in the murder trial of Sean Phillips, accused of killing his 4-month-old daughter Kate five years ago.

Monday, jurors heard from Ludington Police Officer Tony Custer, who was the first officer to come into contact with Phillips that day.

Mason County Undersheriff Jody Hartley then took the stand, testifying that Phillips admitted “he was not telling the whole truth” about Kate.

Jurors also watched the 75-minute police interview with Phillips from the day Kate disappeared.
