Reaves [Port Huron Public Safety Director] said it is believed Ball is headed out of state and has an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation in Oakland County.
He also said Ball was recently discharged from parole and has a prior conviction of armed robbery.

Reaves said Ball has a pit bull tattoo on his left calf, the word 'gorilla' on his left forearm and the word 'kennel' on his right forearm.

This is "local" for me (about 20 - 30 minutes away) and neither my husband or I got an Amber Alert on our phones! I found out through FB and this was the first place I came for more info. Praying this little boy is found safe!

I'm over on the other side of the state but saw friends sharing on FB who live near Port Huron. Praying that this poor child is safe and dad doesn't do any more dumb stuff. Those tattoos would definitely stand out so hopefully someone notices and they're found safely and swiftly.

Oh geez! I don't always get them. But tonight I got one and I'm down near Ann Arbor. My husband got an alert about an hour after mine.

He could have killed the child but he took him instead. There is hope that he will surrender or be located and that the child will be safe. Pray for his mind to clear and show him the way.

I pray he just drops the child off someplace safe where he will be found. I hope that boy didn't have to witness his dad kill his mom

Update: Port Huron Lt. Joel Wood said as of Sunday morning, the boy had not yet been found, but police were following up on strong leads.

Wood said police finished investigating the home on Rawlins Street around 7 a.m. Sunday morning and now believe that the father and son are still in the state. Previously Reaves said it was believed that Ball was headed out of state due to an outstanding warrant for a traffic violation in Oakland County.

"Originally was thought they were leaving the state, at this point
we don't think that is the case," Wood said. "We think they are still in this area of Michigan and we are following up on that."

ETA: Police arrested Douglas Edwin Ball Jr. around 8:30 a.m. this morning in Oakland County and the boy, located at the same time, was safe.

Thank God!!!!!!!

So dad didn't go very far.

Hopefully Douglas can stay with family.

My heart aches so badly for this little boy. Now he doesn't have a mom or dad because of his father.
