On Marc's latest FB he states he married.
A short while before he goes missing.

Anyone find if he legally married and is this person why his Missing flier states his mom as saying his last communication was he was moving to Ohio.
Could that of been his plan?
 
Here are some comments and questions I formulated after reviewing all of Marc's FB accounts:

Marc has many connections throughout the State of Mississippi, and he posted that he went to high school in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, which is on the gulf coast. Could he have returned to Mississippi? (Also, the gulf coast of Mississippi is very close to New Orleans, which is a place that has a very large transient population and gay population.)

Why did Marc create a FB account using the name Marc Meaux and who is the adult female pictured in his cover photo of 01/2016 on this account? He changes his status to "married" in this account in 02/2016. Was he actually married? If so, to whom? If not, why would he claim to be married?

Under the Marc Meaux account, he changes his profile pic to a picture of a white male who he says is his boyfriend and someone asks Marc if he is "back with him." Marc answers yes. Who is this male?

Under the Marc Meaux account and the Marc Cates account, Marc posts an overtly religious meme, which seems out of place. Was he conflicted about religion in some way?

Marc used an LSU meme as his profile pic at one point. What is his connection to Louisiana State University?

I ran out of time, so I couldn't include all comments and questions in this post. Will include more later.

Details of Disappearance
Cates last contacted his mother on August 27, 2016. He was living in Flint, Michigan at the time and was planning to move to Ohio. He has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case.

I see no finding Marc on FB
No outcry from those connected to him.

Marc has an IG account and one of his followers is Joey Meaux. That’s the last name Marc used on one of his FB accounts. Joey Meaux is on FB, and he lives in Slidell, Louisiana, which is just west of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The public posts on that FB account are very religious in nature.

I lived in LA for three years with a lot of clients and Meaux is very common last name.

I'm sorry that my posts are a bit disjointed, but I just hop on when I can and post random thoughts, questions, observations. So here goes:

I plotted his FB posts from earliest to latest, and his latest was August 9, 2016. The post was a change of cover photo to a dream catcher superimposed over an image of a highway. Is this significant as in highway indicates travel or following his dreams, etc?

The next to last post was an exchange between Marc and two other guys. They were all discussing a trip to an amusement park (Cedar Point?) in Ohio. Marc's comment was: "I want to go." He also updated his cover photo to a picture of Cedar Point.

So here are some questions:

Was Marc running from, or to, someone or something? Or was this wanderlust? I think wanderlust would be unusual for a 19 year old and probably not possible due to money, place to stay, etc.

Did Marc leave Michigan for Ohio, stay there for a while, and return to Flint, where the eviction case happened in 2017 or did he never leave Michigan?

Where did he go after the eviction case? Where did he go and with whom?

Could this be a case of Marc simply not wanting to be found? Does someone know where he is and does not say because Marc doesn't want to be found?

This are all just random thoughts and questions. I'm not sure exactly where the line is on posting stuff from social media. If I went over the line, someone can let me know and I'll remove anything that is not allowed.

Check out this page from FB. It contains a bit more information on this case. In a nutshell, the page is called "Mynephewismissing." I don't know who created the page, but it was created on September 26, 2016.

I find the following post very interesting because it contains information I did not see anywhere else:

"This is my nephew marc cates he is 19 years old he went missing August 31,2016 when he got with his new boyfriend that lived in sandusky Ohio he was on his way back to Ohio with the 18 year old guy when I last talked to him or if anyone has seen or have heard from him please call me at..."

My nephew is missing

Very interesting! He has many connections to Mississippi, and I have wondered if he might have returned there. This is worth checking into further.

In my experience, that caveat is pretty normal, LB. Without the caveat, anyone who provided any minute detail could expect a reward. The reward is intended for "the" tip that leads to an arrest.
 
I hope we can find information that will help in the search for Marc. Even if he is deceased, he deserves recognition that he has left us, and his family and friends need closure. Let's keep looking, and I hope others will join this discussion.

Marc Anthony Cates, who was 19 at the time of his disappearance, was last heard from on Aug. 31, 2016.

When he disappeared, Cates was described as 5′9″, 120 pounds, and he may have dyed his hair red.

He was living in Flint and was planning to move to Ohio when he was reported missing.
