The article lists over 20 missing persons and unidentified people over the past 60 years. The October, 1975, case mentioned at the start of thread is referenced.

According to Wikipedia, the park is very close to I-75, providing easy access to Detroit, Toledo, and Windsor.

Wow, CO! That really looks like a match.
-missing 1 day before the UID was found
-husband is gone for 22 hours and comes back covered in mud
And it's within driving range: Google Maps

I think you should submit even though the UID doesn't have DNA. Maybe if they think it's a possible match they will find a way to get the UID's DNA?

Here's the thing - I can't find anything about this Jane Doe outside of the Namus case. The contact listed in Namus actually has a Twitter account -

If someone could point her in this direction that would be great!

Good idea Co, I don't tweet but maybe someone will take the initiative. There is also a phone and email address for NAMUS Regional Program Specialist Lori Bruski listed on the UID file: Unidentified Person Case

I know there's no other info on this UID and that is really sad. I'm hoping the excellent sleuths here can dig up some old newspaper clippings or something.

Thank you Shin! That gives a few new details:

    She was stabbed
She was estimated to be about 5'6"
She wore a blue pull-over blouse

I wonder if she was partially clothed because of water currents, or thrown in the water partially clothed.

That part of Lake Erie was about six hours from their Chicago home. I don't know if detectives studied the current to determine whether she floated from another part of Lake Erie.

Tanningbeds Wikipedia reference prompted me to look at all three papers.. Windersor said nothing about it the Monday after and it made like page 12 news in Toledo BUT it made it seem as if it was a follow up to something.. not sure if there would be more info, but submitted to Romeoville PD where her case is a cold case there. I will let you know...

Does anybody think it could be possible that this woman is a victim of Arthur Ream?

Couple of notes, As per the husbands muddy clothes, It rained around 7am to 10am near Detroit that morning. It looks like it was bone dry the day before. Also, LE is contacting me about the case today so I will let you know if anything comes out of it... Hope we can bring closure to this case..

    Update:
Received a call from Investigator Ryan from the Romeoville PD and he had alot to say.

Firstly, he stated that he was filling through old cases and came across Dolores Griffin a year ago. Off kinda a wild hunch he called a detective where the UID was located. The problem he stated was back in 1975, since dna wasn't a thing, they just took hair a sample and unfortunately cremated the body. However, when he sent them a picture of Dolores, The Detective that was over the UIDcase did have a photo of the UID and said it was a very, very close match. But due to being in the water and the brutality of the wounds, it wasn't definitive.

Even though, they are in the process of exhuming the cremated remains to run tests! Thats how sure they think it is and they feel the technology might be there for this rare process. Also, about the husband.. the info one doenetwork is inncorrect. He was gone for a little over 9 hours not 22 hrs which lines up from their house to the state park.

He basically called because he was astounded that people outside of LE were able to back up his hunch since he never got any outside feed back on this case outside of a guy a year ago when he first stated looking into it. He said it was going to take time to go through the various test, but was very appreciative of our work.
